As of 9/25: This last patch hit Morde HARD. His laning has been hit pretty good so he is not invincible anymore from levels 6-12. Be wary now, as you will not be able to sustain yourself has much anymore.

You want to start off with a Regrowth Pendent. This will allow you to spam your abilities while in lane and sustain you so you can stay in lane.

On your first trip back you should be able to get your +2 boots.

After this is all situational building. If the enemy team is AP, go FoN, if it is AD go Sunfire.

Get a Rylai after either the FoN or the Sunfire and then build what you did not get before.

Abyssal Scepter gives good amounts of MR and Ability Power, which adds to your tankiness and to your damage output.

Rabadons gives good AP to finish the build and adds a good amount of damage. Or if you want to go a more tanky route, go with a Thornmail or Guardian Angel. The GA will be highly effective, since you are tanky enough to take on 2 at a time. Morde excels in a 1v1 or 2v1 fight due to his shield, good defenses, and damage.

You want to max your E first. His E is his most sure skill, as in the Q may bounce to random targets and the W you place on a minion may just walk to a random spot.

It doesn't matter if you want to max W or Q after that, whatever is your personal preference.

Ignite is a great combo with your ult. It is basically impossible to escape from if they are low enough.

Ghost helps with mobility when having to get somewhere quicker.


If you feel that you want another summoner spell than ghost, then go for it, but Ignite is basically a must for Mordekaiser.

As Morde you will be able to tank and deal large amounts of damage.


You want to ult the enemy carry and make sure your team focuses them so you can add the ghost to your team. Always remember that your ult gives you HP, so if you are in a 1v1 situation and they're chasing you to turret it can give you that last bit of HP to save you. This is helpful in the laning phase.

Farming is very important to Morde. It is very easy to farm with Morde so getting to the 3rd main item is pretty easy in a regular game.


Morde should always be farming lanes and making sure that a huge creep wave is not about to hit your tower. He can wipe out waves very fast and get almost every minion.

Be wary of your laning phase from levels 1-4. You are very squishy at this point, and it is arguably your weakest part of the whole game.
