Ability Order
Darkness Rise (PASSIVE)
Mordekaiser Passive Ability
Introduction
Let's talk a bit about runes. There are alot of viable rune choices and I will go over each in detail about why and why not to use them at certain times.
Marks
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration Pretty much standard here magic pen to help do more damage through their MR. Really no other choice but these.
Seals
There are many different types of seals you can use some better for different occasions, and I will discuss that now.
Greater Seal Of Vitality These are what I use most of the time to keep up with
Mordekaiser increasing health cost on his spells, and also the fact that his health pool isn't very large. Also at level 18 these runes are basically a free
Ruby Crystal.
Greater Seal of ArmorI use these ALOT as well as hp/l because I always solo top as Morde(Will be discussed in a later section.) and most solo tops are physical damage so if you think you may need some extra toughness use these because early on morde gets bullied pre 6.
Greater Seal Of Regeneration I rarely ever use these but they are very nice if you want to be a complete douchebag in lane and spam your abilities because they help keep you healthy but because of my masteries and starting with a
Doran's Shield it shouldn't be a problem at all. Can be replaced with flat hp regen seals.
Glyphs
Really only a couple of choices here but i shall go over them.
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist Always nice to have some extra MR to make your shield harder to take down. I almost always run these. Better than flat MR past level 6.
Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction I love these runes I've been using them more and more and they are SUPER nice because they help you keep your shield up and Morde is VERY ability dependent like all other ap's but Morde also has no escape mechanisms other than flash so being able to kite and keep your shield up is important.
Greater Glyph of Ability Power Really helps his early game problems by giving his E some more damage because it does'nt hit that hard until around 3-5 also helps you generate more shield which of course on morde is very important.
Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power Pretty much like the flat ap glyphs but instead of early game these help his late game.
Quintessences
Greater Quintessence of Spell Vamp I have not actually tried these yet but seeing as that morde's spells cost health and you can pull more bullsh*t(Will be a separate section for that.)these seem like a very good choice and I am currently saving up for these.
Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed These are the quints that i ALWAYS use. Morde has no real escaping abilities and his base movement is pretty slow. If the team is good someone WILL gank you early when morde is still vulnerable and with these quints i can't even tell you how many times these have saved my shiny metal ***.
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power Same explanation as the flat ap glyphs.
These are the runes that I prefer and that I think Morde should use I am not saying you HAVE to use these if you prefer or would like to use different runes go for it.
