Introduction
The Warmog's Armor does most of the tank work early on because Mordekaiser will just last longer, and that in turn gives you more time to build more shield with your attacks, it also gives you the health regen (especially the regrowth pendant piece) early game to make sure you don't have to recall for a while so you can make sure to last long against your opponent.
The Mercury Treads are your basic movement increasing boots, but the tenacity is the real key as to why I use them. getting out of that stun or fear just in time helps survivability just too much to pass up.
The void staff is for your basic spell Pen. it really doesnt matter what order you purchase the items for it in.
The Rabadon's Deathcap is for all the AP you will be building(it will be a lot) but again, it doesn't matter what order you buy the pieces for it.
The Zhonya's Hourglass is for that extra armor end game without sacrificing your quest for ultimate power(Kneel Before Zod!) and the stasis effect will certainly help when you have to be the one to initiate all those big 5V5 battles.
The Abyssal Scepter is of course for more AP, and the late game magic resist because your opponents are of course gaining Strength while you are, and the extra magic Pen. makes all the AP you have hit even harder.
The order in which you purchase the items doesn't really matter too much, except for the first item MUST be the regrowth pendant. and the first 2 fully built items must be the Warmog's Armor and the Mercury Treads. I also wait for the Zhonya's Hourglass and Abyssal Scepter for the last 2, and which one I get first depends on if I'm having more trouble with attack damage or spells from my opponents.

This build is meant to hold the middle lane while still Jungleing those 2 little groups on the sides. you're opponent will continually waste their time and abilities wearing through your shield, don't worry about hitting them so much with your abilities, hit the mobs as much as possible.(and if you can hit them on the way, cool) this will push them back from the middle of MID so inbetween the waves, you can go spank a small group in the jungle, and by the time you get back out, your slow opponent has just pushed it back to the middle of MID. you will get nearly twice as many mob kills, and still be holding your lane.
Since this build rarely if ever pushes you past mid far, and keeps you off their radar, you are not often in position to be ganked. and it keeps them in position for a gank(depending on how aggresive they are)
