Introduction
Nasus is a heavy off-tank / tank, who combines slows with immense burst damage from his abilities and stats. He is a melee, fighter, pusher, and recommended for new players. He is a very strong champion who dominates early-mid game (with a high cs Creep score). He benefits greatly from farming (killing) neutral monsters with his "Q" [Siphoning Strike] (i'll get to that under farming.
Marks- I use Greater Mark of Resilience because it gives you the necessary early game armor you need solo / early game top.
Seals- I use Greater Seal of Shielding because, early game top you don't need the extra MR later game for big team fights that will draw the mages and such into the battle.
Glyph- I use a dual combo of glyphs, such as 6 late game Magic Resist boost glyphs. along with 3 early game armor glyphs.
Quintessences-I use the same theory for Quintessences as my glyph runes. Early armor, late Magic resist.

Nasus masteries can differ from if you want to tank or off-tank. I personally like to use tank masteries, along with a mix of mana regen. and a tiny damage boosts. The other side is 21/9/0 taking all cooldown reduction and damage / crit. rating. Having heavy tanking stats early game and mid game really dominate your opponent, while they try to stop your farming.
Items are a huge role in nasus' damage, durability, and farming. Starting with Boots of speed and mana / hp pots help you sustain and escape enemy fire. Having the Philosopher's Stone as your first 800gold+ item is very reasonable. As it rants extra income, mana regen, and health regen (though you will later sell it). The next item is crucial to your early game farming, the Sheen, this item automatically grants 100+ extra damage on your Siphoning Strike that keeps champions off you and kills minions allot faster. This point after your sheen you'll want your boots, I prefer ninja tabi because of the 10% damage reduct. on basic attacks. Building up on a Warmog's Armor is a necessary cost to insure you survive in the longest team fights with its massive health bonus and hp regen. Building a Frozen Heart not only gives you necessary mana, but also gives amazing armor and cooldown reduction! After that try and upgrade your sheen to a Trinity Force, along with an Atma's Impaler for the bonus health=damage passive. After for your final item either take an Infinity Edge / Guardian Angel / or Force of Nature / Thornmail.
Siphoning Strike- Q
Wither- W
Spirit fire- E
Fury of the Sands- R

As a solo-top nasus your main goal is to farm your Q, this ability (each time you activate it then deal a killing blow- such as veigar- your Q PERMANENTLY has 3 increased damage every time you kill something with it. This is why you need to always farm minions, and kill then whenever possible with your Siphoning Strike. Your W is (in my opinion) an OP slow that slows then over a duration of time increasing over the length of the move. This strategic option is mainly used as an Escape to slow pursuers, or to slow the enemy you are pursuing! Your E Spirit fire, is an AoE (Area of Effect)damage-on-cast spell that helps lower minions health to finish off with your Siphoning Strike, or just to poke at champions. Your Ultimate grants AoE damage for all enemies around you, along with a bonus 150/300/600 health, while it grants damage based on the health drained from the AoE damage of minions, monsters, champions.

Personally, myself, I love the spell Heal, not only can it be used in a time of crisis. But an also save an Ally from death's grasp. The exhaust is extra, I would usually use ignite / flash. But lately I've been using exhaust for the Stand-Still combo of Wither then exhaust. Not only does this render the champions damage output useless, but also slows then to basically a complete stop at rank 4/5.
Pros
Nasus is a very easy to use champion
He can pump out amazing damage mid-game
Very reliable solo-top
Very nice move set and cc
Big farming advantages with his Q
Cons
Without his farmed Siphon Strike
he cannot reach minimal potential
No farm. No nasus
(these were all i could think of)
