Welcome to my Nocturne build, I've used this build since first game as Nocturne, with little to no problems. I've carried the team every time, even once with a feeder.
On to the guide, this build focuses mostly on armor penetration, and can effectively give you over 100 armor penetration(including black cleaver debuff). While the combination of high attackspeed and high damage will make you an extremely effective pusher, able to crush towers in little time.

Pros / Cons

- Has a spell shield, that also passively gives attackspeed!
- Duskbringer trail works like a better version of Ghost, and grants Nocturne a huge AD boost
- Unspeakable Horror is a delayed CC that kicks in just as Nocturne reaches melee(Mostly)
- Can Assist his team in ganks in a range slightly longer than half of the jungle, using paranoia jump
- If positioned correctly, you can hit entire minion waves with your passive, giving you a great pushing ability, also, Your passive does 20% more physical damage than auto attacks.

- Very dependant on early game kills, which requires the enemies to do mistakes(mostly).
- Doesn't do too well in teamfights if focused, has to join the fight mostly/entirely for the chasing part.

Desolation Marks/Quintessences - These runes will give you abouts 26 armor penetration on their own, which will cause you to penetrate over 100% of the enemies armor at lvl 1(most champions have between 15 and 25 ish armor at lvl 1).
Alternative choices: Flat health

Clarity Seals - These will cause you to never need a single mana item.
Alternative choices: armor

Alacrity Glyphs - These will boost your passive.

Go with a 21/0/9 Build, taking awareness in utility, and a standard physical setup in offense.

Utility and not Defense? because the exp advantage will help you much more than 6 mr and 6 armor.

Summoner Spells

Combined withwill give you a combined speedboost of over 60%! making them work great together, both for chasing and escaping.

Will make it much easier to pick off those that get away in the last second.

Alternatives:YES clairvoyance, one of the most dangerous weapons you could give Nocturne, would be more sight
Alternatives to Ghost and ignite, other possible escape spells, and the alternative to ignite: exhaust.

Item Explaination:
Doran's Shield: Doran's Shield is a great startout item as it gives health regen, health and armor, Why not Doran's Blade? Because Doran's Blade requires you to auto attack more often to regenerate health.

Berserkers Greaves: Some People think Berserker's Greaves are bad, because they only gives AS, compared to others like merc treads, ninjatabi, or even boots of swiftness. Lets compare the others: Merc Treads is useless because if you got CC'd, you probably wouldnt have gotten any better chance with CC reduction, Ninja Tabi The Dodge is entirely on luck, you cant rely on luck, besides, that one dodge probably wouldnt had saved you anyway... Boots of swiftness Overkill, no one can escape you if hit by duskbringer anyway!

Sword of the Occult: Sword of the Occult Should ONLY be bought if you do well, when you reach endgame you should sell Sword of the Occult for Banshee's veil IF you go below 10 stacks.

Brutalizer:The Brutalizer is one of the highest damage boosts you will get, 25 attack damage doesnt seem like much, but youll understand soon enough:) 20 armor penetration!

Vampiric Scepter: This will give you an easier time farming.

Youmuu's Ghostblade: Using the active will give you better chasing, and as, must have item!:D

Black Cleaver: The Black Cleaver is exactly all the things Nocturne needs, Damage, Attack Speed, and "armor penetration"

Infinity Edge: Infinity Edge will bring your crit chance up to 37%, and will cause your crits(and not to mention auto attacks) to do crazy damage.

The BloodThirster: Using this will give you your needed lifesteal while giving a huge damage bonus :)

Banshee's Veil: Banshee's Veil goes well with your Shroud of Darkness active, giving you up to 2 spellshields.

Skill Sequence

Duskbringer: Nocturne throws a shadow blade which deals damage, leaves a Dusk Trail, and causes champions to leave a Dusk Trail. While on the trail, Nocturne ignores unit collision and has increased Movement Speed and Attack Damage.
Duskbringer has many uses, it can be used for harassing, escaping, even pushing(gives a damage boost). But its main purpose, is ganking, start your ganks using Duskbringer, ONLY if you hit, and ONLY if you hit, can you proceed, if you miss, the gank has failed..(this doesnt count at all times ofcourse.)

Shroud of Darkness: Nocturne empowers his blades, passively gaining attack speed. Activating Shroud of Darkness allows Nocturne to fade into the shadows, creating a magical barrier which blocks a single enemy spell and doubles his passive attack speed if successful.
Use this to block enemy spells, also, it gives attackspeed, so try to use it, when you block a spell, you get TWICE the attack speed bonus.

Unspeakable Horror: Nocturne plants a nightmare into his target's mind, dealing damage each second and fearing the target if they do not get out of range by the end of the duration.
Use this as soon as youve gotten close enough to use it in a gank. Most often the target will be feared as soon as you reach them.

Paranoia: Nocturne reduces the sight radius of all enemy champions and removes their ally vision for 4 seconds, this includes champions, minions, wards and towers. He can then launch himself at a enemy champion with a large range. Deals physical damage on arrival.
You can jump a range almost from blue buff to mid lane with this, causing you to be completely impossible to dodge. This can also be used to help teammates escape, by playing mindgames with the enemy.

Tips and Tricks/Team Work

Team Work
Nocturne's Unspeakable Horror combines extremely well with other champions with a stun. your partner should use his/her stun, and you use duskbringer(which WILL hit due to stun) and then fire Unspeakable Horror, which should CC them just about the time the other stun is over

Laning for long
Only attacking the minion wave from the middle so you hit all 6(7) at once, while your passive is ready, will heal you for 105/140/175 and will let you lane for MUCH longer at once.

Play an assassin, BE an assassin
NEVER initiate team fights, youll be squashed like a bug, EVEN if youre fed, you cant take a team 1v5. When a team fight is starting, hide in the jungle, when the fight starts, take them from behind, targetting the easiest target until someone should be chased, start chasing then. DONT waste your Ultimate on starting the fight, wait for the chase.
