OLAF THE BLOODY SLAUGHTER ! ! !

INTRODUCTION

Hi ! Welcome to my Olaf guide !
I made this guide considering noobs and hardcore players vocabulary so don't worry if you are starting with this game, this guide is also and i can say above all FOR YOU !!!
Olaf is a tremendous DPS melee champion.
Even if a lot of people play him TANK or hybrid DPS/TANK, i prefer playing him as pure DPS because it's to my mind the only way to make him rock as hell !!!
Moreover, he is quite fun and easy to play so don't hesitate to buy him and play him hardcorely.

ABILITIES

Undertow :
Olaf throws an axe to a target location, dealing 50/90/130/170/210 (+) physical damage to units it passes through and slowing them by 24/28/32/36/40% for 2.5 seconds.
If Olaf picks up the axe, the ability's cooldown is reduced by 6 seconds.
Cost 55/60/65/70/75 ManaRange 1000
I don't take it first but you can.
It's a tracker ability wich permit you to slow opponents in order to catch them and frag them.
You can also use it to harass in early game.

Vicious Strikes :
For 6 seconds, Olaf's attack damage is increased by 7/14/21/28/35 (+ [1% of maximum Health]) and he gains 9/12/15/18/21% lifesteal and spell vamp.
Cost 40/45/50/55/60 ManaRange 700
Gives you regen and ATTACK DAMAGE buff. Use it everytime, everywhere and on every occasion. ;)

Reckless Swing :
Olaf deals 100/160/220/280/340 true damage to his target and inflicts 40/64/88/112/136 true damage to himself.
Cost 50/50/50/50/50 ManaRange 325
My favourite ability on Olaf because it is very violent in early game.
Use it wisely to harass your opponents and/or kill them easily.
You have to care when you want to use it because it's a melee ability so don't make stupid and deadly moves just for one swing. You much more have to try to take advantage of an opponent mistake or invitation. ^^

Ragnarok :
Active: For 5/6.5/8 seconds, Olaf is immune to disables and reduces incoming damage by 20/30/40.
Passive: Olaf has 10/20/30 increased armor penetration.
Cost 100/75/50 ManaRange 400
Oh yeah ! A tremendous ulti for a tremendous character.
You can use it for both attack and def, push or back.
It increase passively your damages in a way thanks to the armor penetration and make you tank for a while when activated.

Berserker Rage (his passive) :
For each 1% of health missing, Olaf's attack speed is increased by 1%.
This passive is awesome !
Just imagine : when you are middle life, you gain 50% attack speed (just like a phantom dancer).
This passive makes olaf very aggressive as DPS because you can hold a gank or do unbelievable damages before dying.

MASTERIES

21 Attack points because i play him as an aggressive DPS.
9 Defense points to tank a bit.

RUNES

Full Alacrity to be a very good crusher (added to your passive it's really unbelievable).
You can also go on full critical damages (+46% crit damages approximatively), it works very well with this build.
The only drawback is that a full critical damages page is very expensive (25000 PI approximatively). But, when you love you don't count ! ;)

ITEMS

All my build is based on attack speed, damages and critical strikes.
The base of this build is Phantom Dancer added to Infinity Blade in order to have attack speed, damages and critical damages quickly.
Phantom Dancer gives you movment speed too (+15%) wich is very usefull and essential.
After that, you just have to continue with damages and armor penetration thanks to Bloodthirster and Last Whisper.
Don't forget that you stack attack damages and lifesteal bonus on your Bloodthirster when you kill creeps and neutrals.
Moreover, thanks to Last Whisper, you will crush opponents tankers wich is very important for a DPS. However, you can make a Madred Bloodrazor if you prefer.
I make frozen mallet in end game to tank more and to catch *****es backers !!!
However (the second ^^), you can replace it by another Bloodthirster or a Madred Bloodrazor or a Black Cleaver if you prefer. As far as i'm concerned, i prefer Bloodthirster. ;)

GAME STAGES

EarlyGame :
Use Reckless Swing whenever possible on your opponents.
Use Vicious Strikes to regen, farm and kill your opponents.
You can also take Undertow at start in order to track down backers or harass more easily.
Be carefull because you play as DPS and are a melee champion.

MidGame :
You are ERIC THE RED !!! ^^
Don't forget your passive.
If you are ganked, stay in fight and see your attack speed increase diabolicely.
You don't need mana so help your mates killing the mana golem and try to get the lizard.
Farm ! Farm ! Farm !
Try to gank and surprise your opponents. When you arrive, they die if you use all your skills except Ragnarok (use exhaust too, it's a very usefull spell to track down someone or survive a gank or a team fight).
With your critic and damages, you are a terrible pusher and ganker.
Use your TP wisely in order to have a massive presence on the map.

EndGame :
Jungle endlessly to feed you.
GANK ! GANK ! GANK !
PUSH ! PUSH ! PUSH !
Thanks to your critical strikes and attack speed, Reckless Swing become quasi useless.
Track down with Undertow and Frozen Mallet.
Don't forget you are not a tanker so try always to be a very unpredictable surprise to your opponents.

CONCLUSION

Olaf is a true savage brute when played as pure DPS.
Indeed, all his abilities are focused on damages, attack speed and lifesteal.
Don't be a ***** and go to frag down !!!
