On an uncharted continent beyond Valoran's grasping clutches, the conqueror named Olaf was born to a long tradition of soldiers unlike most others. Berserkers, as they tout themselves, are warriors who channel fury deep from their cores, unleashing pure and savage wrath upon their enemies. This fearsome evolution is a product of their unforgiving home, Lokfar - a barren tundra where all creatures must vie bitterly for every resource. Olaf belonged to a seafaring clan known for ruthlessly pillaging any and all villages within reach of their dragon-crested longboats. The last time he saw his icy home, Olaf was embarking on an expedition to pioneer and plunder a distant land known only to legend. However, while underway, a terrible storm sprung up and Olaf and his crew were thrown to the mercy of a roiling and pitiless sea.

His ship destroyed, his crew nowhere to be found, Olaf miraculously washed up untold miles from ''friendly'' waters on the foreign shores of Valoran, south of Demacia. This unfamiliar place stunned and frightened the Berserker, for Lokfar is not privy to such potent magicians. Approaching them, Olaf hoped that they could use their mysterious powers to send him back to his people. A bargain was struck. Olaf would use his awesome prowess as a warrior to serve the unusual wars of Valoran in the League of Legends, and in exchange the sorcerers would find him a way to return. Despite his participation in the League, Olaf knows better than to trust the ''finger wagglers'' that run the Institute of War. He deliberately keeps details of his life and home from them. After all, with enough information, they would most certainly find the Lokfarians and dominate them as they have dominated all of Valoran, keeping both quietly -- and unwittingly -- in their thrall.

Beware the war cry of the Berserker. What surges toward you is unyielding, free from the shackles of reason.

Olaf is an off-tank capable of ****ting on top of carries and tearing apart the enemy team. Olaf is a great anti-carry because of his cc immmune ultimate, Ragnarok. He has a aoe slow, true damage nuke, deadly inbuilt lifesteal and damage and also his OP passive when he is on low hp. Olaf shines mid-late game, however, his early game should never be underestimated. Sure he can't lane if his life depended on it, but heck, he is currently the fastest jungler in game!

How To Jungle With Olaf

There are many ways to jungle with Olaf, however, after hundreds of games with Olaf, this is the route I find the most effective with Olaf, it is also the safest.

Safe Route

Here is EXACTLY what I do while jungling, so you will know when to pot and stuff:

1. Start at the double golems. Hit the first golem 3 times, pop vicious strikes, pop smite to finish the 1st golem. Finish off the 2nd golem and pot when you reach lvl 2 after the 2 golems.

2. Activate Vicious Strikes and throw your axe at all 4, and throw it again at the 3 red ones. Finish those 3 and then kill the blue one.

3. Activate vicious strikes and throw at the 3 wolves, focus the big one. After the big one dies, pop a pot and destory the 2 smallers ones. You should be lvl 3 by now.

4. Get another rank in undertow, and pot if your at around 300hp. Activate vicious strikes and undertow ONCE, spam vicious strikes and finish the blue golem with smite. Finish off the other 2 small lizards.

5. Go to golems and destroy them, remember to spam your undertow and vicious strikes.

6. Clear the wraith camp.

7. Clear the wolf camp.

8. Go back and grab madreds razors and have at least 1-2 hp pots in your inventory.

9. Grab red buff, and get your reckless swing. Now go and gank a lane!

There are many rules when jungling with Olaf, here are the rules for jungling:

1. Never pick your first skill,instead pick it at the last second. For example, if you picked vicious strikes as you should have as your first skill, and you get ganked, you could've escaped if you had undertow.

2. Don't be afraid when jungling with Olaf. The lower hp you are, the faster you will jungle, due to his passive, just stay in that "sweet spot".

3. Ping the person who you want to gank, before hand. Most people in LoL nowadays have no map awareness so they will be unaware that you are ganking. Just simply ping the person you want to gank, its VERY easy.

4. Try to let your teammates initiate so you can go in and catch them off-guard, you are pretty much guranteed a kill this way.

    One of the hardest hero's to kill when fed (2-3 kills early game will do it)
    Does so much damage its not even funny

This guide focuses on building an off-tank capable of destroying their enemy carry and tearing apart their team.
Armour pen marks are perfect for Olaf, not only does it make him stronger, it lets him **** on carries. Lets face it, who doesn't love extra killing power?
Flat armour seals are also a great choice for Olaf as it not only assists with jungling, but it makes you a great anti-carry and makes you tank. Olaf also relies on staying at that sweet spot of hp, and this is easily the difference between a single kill or a multi kill.
Magic resis @ lvl 18 is the glyph that best suits Olaf. Olaf has quite a weak magic resis per lvl, so these remove the problem. Olaf gets burst down quite easily by mages during early-mid game so these also help him during his baby stages... but hey late game, Olaf can say: "What are Casters?".
Armour pen quints are once again mandatory just like armour pen marks are. Let me ask you this again, who doesn't like extra killing power?

I find these runes the best on Olaf as they help him reach his true potential. It should be noted also, that if you have all these runes as opposed to some or none, there is quite a noticeable difference, so in other words, if you have these runes, you will notice a difference in your score.

I go for 1/8/21 masteries on Olaf. The improved smite is always handy incase someone tries to take baron/dragon or a buff of yours and who doesn't love extra gold? The defensive masteries give you nice armour and magic resistance which one again help you, and the hp regen per 5 late game is insane if you have force of nature. The utility tree is quite mandatory, not only do you get improved ghost, mana/hp regen, extra xp which is a necessity for jungling, you also get extra gold (which amounts of 360g) in a 1hr game, extra buff time, more mana per 5 (olaf is very easily oom) as well as extra movement speed, cdr which is nice for those ******ic axes and who doesn't love 15% on their summoner spells?

Summoner Spells

You can't jungle without smite on Olaf, nuf said. Also very handy for that small extra but potentially 1 v 1 or game changing heal, use your smite with vicious strikes on a minion or a pet for that very tiny but very important heal. Very useful when running away too.
Mandatory on Olaf. Olaf has quite a slow base movement speed, so this is why it is mandatory. Used to gank during the laning phase, in team fights with your ultimate is literally ****ting on carries, running away with a silver of health, etc, the possibilities are endless!

Trinity Force WTF?

Most Olaf's right now get Frozen Mallet as their core item. This is a very bad mistake because all Frozen Mallet gives you is bulk hp, a slow and a miniscule amount of damage. However, for JUST 850 gold more, you can get what Olaf, who is an anti-carry. truly needs. You get attack speed, attack damage, crit chance, hp, mana, movement speed, a slow and the burst needed to **** on top of the carries and tear teams apart.

Now which core item for Olaf sounds better? If you think frozen mallet, don't even bother reading this guide and just go away and cry in yo bed :)

Undertow vs Reckless Swing-


    Better gap closer
    Stronger slow
    Better leveling
    Better Farming

    Less of a single target nuke, less damage in other words.
    It is a skill shot, so you need practice.

    Better single target nuke, more damage in other words.
    Takes absolutely no skill to use.

    Hard to close the gap between you and the enemy
    Bad farming.

In conclusion, it is quite obvious that the Pros of maxing out Undertow first outweigh the Pros of maxing out reckless swing first. So it should be quite obvious which skill is better to max out, hint: ITS UNDERTOW!
