Great guide. It helped me start up again after not playing Taric for more than a year. voted +1.

I pick almost the same masteries, except i go for the +9 % hp/mana regen instead of +4 armor and +2 MR, since during laningphase i get very little mana from passive (gemcraft).

I try to pick a lane with caitlyn (stun + trap + peacemaker = ownage) and always go for a HP-pot and a mana manipulator (builds into Soul Shroud), to help her with mana for harassing.

Also, if on blue team (bottom left) and jungler starts blue-buff, me and cait go kill our twin-golems. Gives both of us half a level and cait gets 60 g. I tank anfter her pull, and then go home for heal and a "free" ward, while cait gets even further ahead of enemy lane because of solo xp. When enemy hits lvl 2, im just about to do so as well, and cait is already lvl 3, putting out traps and spamming peacemaker lvl 2.
- It has proven beneficial until now.

I was especially happy about your discussion of zoneing - only time that didn't work was against nunu and nasus - until our jungler came down and raped them :D

- I hope you don't mind the long reply.
/Kaerf

p.s. in "counter-cons" you mention you use chalice - i think you need to reformulate or remove that :)

": A decently strong heal on a medium cooldown, it can really deplete your mana early though. It is always preferable to heal another person as it will heal 200% compared to 140% on just yourself. "

You may want to re-read the ability, it is more effective when Taric uses it on himself. You have it backwards.

Also, I'm not sure where you got the "200%" increase to the heal, or the "140%" increase. It's simply 40% more effective when he casts it on himself.

Perhaps my wording was a bit unclear, however, if you use it on someone else, (say it heals for 100) it will heal you and another person for 100. But if you use it on only yourself, it will heal for 140. Meaning the total healing done is greater if used on another person. 200 vs. 140

I think the current changes to the meta game call for a more aggressive role in support characters. I tried this build recently, and the babysitter build kinda sucks now. Everything is so much more fast paced, and taric needs to have some kind of threat in a team that will make him worthy of notice. Would you take a look at/try out these experimental builds I came up with to see if they're appropriate for the current meta? http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/experimental-tanky-dps-taric-builds-135543
