Introduction

With Pantheon, you honestly don't need any runes at all. When I first bought him, I had no runes, but I'd still be able to carry 4v5s. I would do outstanding with him, so just remember, if you got no runes, it doesn't mean you'll suck with him. If you do have runes, then great.. Your gonna have it easy on you with the extra stats :D
If you do have runes, the runes I suggest are - Armor pen Marks, Dodge Seals, CDR glyphs, and flat health quintessences. Armor pen for more damage to the tanks who have lots of armor.. Dodge seals for survivability against AD carries.. CDR glyphs for more cooldown reduction since Pantheon is considered a burster. Flat health quintessences for.. Health..? Duh?

My masteries as Pantheon are straightforward.. Crit damage, flat damage, and flat armor pen being the most useful. I go with a 21-0-9, I put 9 in the Utility tree for the mana regen, which is really helpful early game when your creeping with your spear. When I run out of mana, then I'll clarity and go back to creeping.
I see many people who play Pantheon get Tiamats, Manamune, Chalices, etc. It sickens me to the bone. Why get those items when you can just get clarity if your having mana problems? So when I start the game, I start with a long sword and a potion. This helps the damage output early game. Then I go for a sword of occult. Your probably thinking, "What? Thats noob.." Trust me, it isn't. Next up is the boots of lucidity, or just boots if you dont have enough money. Boots of lucidity is a great item for Pantheon because once his bursts are over, your done for. Plus the cooldown reduction is great for your ulti, making you a threat at all times. After the boots, I get a brutalizer. The brutalizer gives good damage early game and cooldown reduction. It's great for pantheon. Next up is the Last Whisperer. When I started playing LoL I went straight for damage, no armor pen at all whatsoever. Then I realized, I do more damage with armor pen then with massive amounts of damage. Which is why I get the Last Whisperer. Next up is two B.F. Swords, trust me, its worth it. Fast 100 damage, what else can you ask for? Next is the Infinity Edge and a Blood Thirster. If you have time to even get that far that is. If you feel you can't push or chase well enough, get the Youmomus Ghostblade before the Infinity Edge and the Blood Thirster. Otherwise get that last so you'll be melting towers in a couple of hits.
When I play Pantheon, I have a very basic skill sequence. Stun - Heartseekers - Spear. Simple enough. Now with this skill sequence I level up heartseekers whenever i get the chance, then the stun. Heatseekers does massive amounts of damage to squishies early game and you'll be getting those stacks fast.

Ive seen so many pantheons get exhaust, ignite, heal, etc. It may work okay, but teleport and clarity work the best. Teleport allows you to push/defend/creep. Its perfect for you. If you think about it, a champion kill is about 300 gold. A creep is a bout 20, so if you get 15 creep kills its about the same as a champion kill. Creeping is better than killing early game, but if you get a chance and your teammates need help, go get them kills. Get some stacks on your occult fast :D
Next is clarity. I absolutely love clarity. I've had so many experiences where I'd run out of mana and I'd try to bait the other people to attacking me, only to pop clarity, stun, heartseekers, and spear for the finish. Plus, if your jungling with low mana and you see a gank oppurtunity, you pop clarity, ulti and repeat the skill sequence.

Early game, you want to try to harass the opposing champion as much as you can. What I do is lob a spear at them constantly, with a long sword it'll burn about 100 damage every spear. Who can honestly put up with that much damage every so often. As your doing that, you must learn how to last hit creeps. Its a wonderful skill and it'll help you SO much. Walk around the creep with low health until just about dead then hit him. If you see a creep with low health and you know hes gonna die before you get there, then throw a spear at him. With clarity and teleport, it won't matter if you run out of mana or run low on health, cause you can always just tele back to get more health, buy some more health pots, or wait for clarity to solve your mana problems.
Another thing to get keep in mind, is the passive shield you get after 4 attacks/spells. If your going against a ranged AD carry, you want that shield on you at all times. When you have it, then run up to the enemy champ, lob a spear, and run back. If the enemy didn't hit you, then great. If he/she did, then its okay, you'll have it back soon enough only to go and lose it harassing again.

In teamfights, your job is very easy. Try to do as much damage, to as many possible champions with heartseekers, since your heartseekers does damage in a cone. If you can't hit everyone, heartseeker the carries. NEVER ATTACK THE TANKS! They aren't the ones that do the most damage to you, the carries are, and usually, they're pretty damn squishy. If the opposing team starts to focus you, then just have your team initiate and jump in on everyone. Stun - Heart seekers - Spear! Stun - Heart seekers - Spear! Stun - Heart seekers - Spear! Double kill..! Triple kill..! Quadra kill..! PENTA KILL!

This is a very important skill, it almost decides how many stacks your gonna get with your sword of occult. Now, when you jump, you can always deactivate it, but you'll suffer a short period of time where its on cooldown, about 10 seconds or so. Use this to your advantage. When they're running away and you jump in on them, remember to predict where they'l' be in a couple of seconds.. It's always to better to jump in front of the champion than way back. If your teams having a teamfight, then jumping in shouldn't be a problem, if your teams winning, then jump a little past them. If your teams losing then jump a little in front of them and ping, or shout on vent, or rage in chat that your jumping so your team can stop running and have the enemy team fall into your trap.
With Pantheon, it won't hurt if you take a couple of hits, since you have the passive where every 4 spells/attack you get a shield that blocks a physical attack including towers. So if your running in our jumping in, all you need to know is that you'll be safe from two tower hits. One from when you already have it when your running in, and another for stunning the enemy champ. When you stun them you automatically get a shield which is what makes Pantheon such a great tower diver.
ALWAYS BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR GANKS! Without that extra damage, your useless, you wont be doing any damage until you get your BF swords. Once you have some stacks, your going to be feared among the enemy team, and stacks will be coming in quick. Remember to not be too careless, you still don't want to die since you lose some after you die.
Now I've had many games where I suck and its not going my way. Thats like 1 out of 10 games.. Pantheon is really team dependent, so you have to have good chemistry with your team, especially if your in solo queue. If I do suck, then I creep constantly. I all of my items since after a team fight if i get 5 assists, thats 5 stacks. 5 stacks, 5 damage per stack thats 25 damage! Lol.. 25 damage plus the 10 flat damage sword of occult gives you. 35 damage, thats not something to be underestimated.
ALWAYS :
Get elixirs when you can. Trust me.
Elixir of Fortitude - Grants 140-235 Health, based on champion level, and 10 Attack Damage for 4 minutes. I can't begin to tell you how many times this thing saved me from ignite, or Morde's ult, or even Karthus's ult early game. Not only does it grant INSTANT health, it also gives AD! Whenever I go back to buy, if I have enough money I always buy an elixir no matter what. Yes it costs 250 gold, yes it slows you from buying you next item, doesn't matter, its worth it and you should always be buying these.
Elixir of Agility - Grants 12-22% Attack Speed, based on champion level, and 8% Critical Chance for 4 minutes. This is one of the elixirs I buy the least, attackspeed, crit chance, all very good stats.. Yet, who is it really good for? Tryndamere, Master Yi, etc. May not be a true lifesaver, but may be good to buy if your a AD DPS carry.
Elixir of Brilliance - Grants 20-40 Ability Power, based on champion level, and reduces cooldowns by 10% for 4 minutes. This. Elixir. Is. Awesome. Purely awesome. Reduces champion cooldowns for 4 minutes! ZOMGROFLBBQ! Instant cooldown reduction is something not commonly found and it only costs 250 gold!
Something else you need to do...
Buy wards from time to time. If you have enough money to buy wards, buy them. Even if its just one. One ward can mean the difference between a failed gank and a successful gank from the enemy team. Buying wards is something you must learn how to do always, not only does it help YOU, but it also helps your teammates. It leads to victory. When you do buy your ward, place is at either dragon if its below 20 minutes.. Once after 20 minutes, buy 2 wards if you can for dragon and baron.
