Champion Build Guide
FULL ITEM BREAKDOWN
TRINITY FORCE: Gives you everything you want for the W-max playstyle. Complete no-brainer first item every single game, although you can consider Iceborn Gauntlet vs full AD enemy team comps.
EXPERIMENTAL HEXPLATE: Another core item. Excellent synergy with the champ as it gives you an attack speed and move speed injection after ulting, and Fizz as a champion generally leads with ult. Not to mention 30 ability haste for your ult means more "Feeding Times"! Obviously with this build your ult is more of a CC tool than pure damage, but notably the base damage of his ult (at all sizes) did get buffed recently (with the AP scalings nerfed, further promotiong this build funnily enough).
BOOTS: Get Ionian Boots of Lucidity by upgrading your Magical Footwear AFTER your 2 core items. If you won Feats of Strength, upgrade them to Crimson Lucidity. Plated Steelcaps and Mercury's Treads should only be considered over Ionians if they are game-winning purchases (vs very heavy AD and auto attackers or vs extreme reliance on CC).
SPEAR OF SHOJIN: Gives a lot of things you want, basic ability haste to give you more E's for mobilty and ensure you W cd is as low as possible, as well as ramping up your W DoT (which also had its base damage buffed recently). Recommended for general build.
RIFTMAKER: Synergizes extremely well with Spear of Shojin, and not many champs can abuse this combo (due to one item being AD and the other AP). Fizz doesn't mind having AP in his build and this also gives you omnivamp and healing to add to your Conqueror healing. Of course you also gain the 2% damage boost per second in combat (up to 8%), and you get even more value out of all the HP you're building as you gain AP equal to 2% of your bonus HP. Recommended for general build.
STERAK'S GAGE: Good item to cap off your general build with, as it gives you more AD, HP, and a massive shield once you drop to 30% hp (which is also when Last Stand will give its max damage bonus). The Tenacity provided by this item is also quite nice to have. Recommended for general build.
BLADE OF THE RUINED KING: Pretty much exclusively for enemy comps that have HP stackers (eg. Dr. Mundo) that you need to shred if the rest of your team struggles with killing them.
LIANDRY'S TORMENT: Can also be built to help with tank/juggernaut-killing due to its % max HP damage. Similarly to shojin/riftmaker this comboed with BotRK is kind of broken since almost no champs can effectively utilize both. However, Liandry's can also just be built if you want more AP in your build, and it does also give up to a 6% damage boost in combat.
ZHONYA'S HOURGLASS: Somewhat niche to build, but obviously Fizz can benefit from all of its stats. Can be useful if enemy comp has key abilities that you can stasis if you don't always have E available. Gains value in competitive play as you can buy more time/create more space for your (organized) team.
GUARDIAN ANGEL: Similar to Zhonya's in that it gains value in competitive play. Generally I wouldn't recommend building it in soloq as its value is often wasted there.
OVERLORD'S BLOODMAIL: You can substitute Sterak's for this item, particularly if the enemy team has anti-shielding and/or little cc. It also gives you more damage than Sterak's.
JAK'SHO, THE PROTEAN: Generally another later-in-build option if your team has no frontline/you need to be tanking more damage. It is >100% gold efficient when its passive is stacked, and juicing up your armour and magic resist stats is quite valuable since the rest of your build only stacks HP. Jak'Sho on bruisers is generally underrated as when you have lower armour/magic resist values, you gain more % value out of having more. Like the difference between having 100 armour vs 50 is a lot more significant than having 300 vs 250, due to stacking resistances giving diminishing returns.
