This works really well actually.

Lots of people rolling around with AS and Crit on him.

I didn't understand that since he screamed AD caster to me.

Your guide gets him rolling rampages really quickly. It can do a lot of damage!

I feel like Hec is only good with good teammates though...maybe he's just not that strong in general.

good guide though.

Thanks Milk!

We'll I got rid of youmuu's because I discovered that cheaper forms of CDR translated to a more effective build. And that excess cash could be better spent on defensive stats and supporting items.

Once you have 40% CDR on Hec, you can build full tanky/support and still deal massive amounts of damage.

I dropped the ghostblade because I found I wasn't getting much out of the AS buff from the active and the item lacked the defensive stats I was looking for.

You've got a point. I don't gank often enough, and when I do, most of the hurt comes from my basic attacks because my Q takes so long to stack its CDR. When I tried your build, this problem disappeared, and it worked out fantastically. Good work.

Haha, hecarim is definitely not UP; Just a bit tricky and versatile. Another thing people say is that he's better in lane, and that bothers me. Every since the jungle nerf, a good jungler has been defined by his/her ganks, not by how easy it is to kill the monsters in the jungle. People just don't understand that. :P

I like the idea, haven't tested it out yet, but:
Yoummu's 15% CDR
Shurelya's 15% CDR
Randuin's 5% CDR
Masteries 4% CDR
= 39%

So you don't really need those CDR glyphs. If you really wanna max it out go one or two, but I would get magic resist instead.

First off, thanks for not being like "You're wrong!! You suck! -1" There is a lot of that around here.

Second, I appreciate you not suggesting stacking Zeals...that build annoys me lol

It sounds like you've made Hec more of an auto attacker than a physical caster. And don't get me wrong, that's fine.

I've just noticed that CDR early on really helps Hec and so that's what I've built for. He gets more ults for ganks and his q spam quickens with CDR.

It just happens that 2 of the strongest CDR items happen to have MS on them as well.

I've noticed that most people are complaining about Hec being UP while I've yet to lose with him. That makes me think I'm on to something.

We're on the same page here in a couple of ways. Like you, I don't agree with running Wriggle's Lantern with Hecarim; it's too expensive, doesn't grant enough lifesteal (especially after the recent nerf), and it does not manipulate his passive. Philo stone generates gold while you roam and helps with mana sustain, which is quite the obstacle with Hecarim considering I find myself running out of mana even with blue in the early game.

Where you and I differ is in our play-style. I rush boots of swiftness and Aegis of the Legion, and then I buy triforce immediately after that, starting with the zeal. After the tri-force I get a phantom dancer, a sunfire cape, and atma's impaler. As you can tell, making use of Warpath is my priority. See, the items I buy are giving me static movement speed increases, whereas the items in this build rely on the active ability of the item to manipulate Hecarim's passive. It really depends on the player, and which items they feel more comfortable with. Your build, complimentary to your play style, allows you to be more of a tank, helping you to stay in the lanes and in the jungle and in the team fights for longer, taking less damage, and interrupting/re-positioning the enemy team. The build I follow is more about moving fast. Really fast. Without hitting the active on my Shurelya's or Youmuu's. Essentially, it's about getting into the middle of things, securing the kill for myself or my team, and leaving with just enough health to speed away, baiting the remainder of the enemy team while my team cleans up. In and out is what its about.

To summarize the purpose of this long-winded "quick reply": Hecarim is a robust champion. different players play in different ways with different builds, so it's hard to make an end all be all build that everyone could use for a champion like Hecarim, because it all depends on how you play with Hecarim. If you're more aggressive and like the thrill of getting away, you wont care much for all the tanky items. Just the movement speed, and that delicious bonus that comes with it.

I've seen a couple other guide starting with philo now and building heart as well. My ideas appear to be catching on.
