So Pyke is fairly new, and I decided to take him mid (mid main) and I actually managed to have a great game. So I tried again and I won, and won, and won. Pyke is very easy to learn. Extremely hard to master. Trust me. He should be buffed, but maybe nerfed in his ult reset, which is 20 seconds to recast btw.

Farming is hard with Pyke. Use his e to clear big waves and q to clear the back casters easily. You'll get used to it.

I always bring electrocute mid. Always.
Do not bring aftershock mid lane since you will be losing out on damage.
And damage is the key to winning an assassin lane. You need to kill them faster than they can kill you.
