1. this section is still valid
2. a leash is at the start of the game when your teammates damage the camp you start at but dont kill it to help you get level 2
3. Try to corral your target by blocking off their exit path by walking behind them
4. Cinderhulk, unless drastic changes are made to rammus, will always be the most viable on him
5. All-inning is an all out assault on an enemy a form of "all in" just a different tense
6. Final build example would be the most likely/ optimal build to go in a game, although you should refer to the situational items if you need to deviate from the build. ideal build order should be your jungle item, ninja tabi, locket of the iron solari, thornmail, warmogs armor, spirit visage
You might want to correct these things in the guide:
There are a few more things I don't understand:
to address some of your points that are more abstract questions i put in clarification in the guide but i will also explain some in this comment.
1.I cant put both skirmishers and stalkers blade on the same item build without it looking redundant but i try to make it sound like it is at the discretion of the player and the game (which it is)
2. hunter's talisman does not provide armor, but the previously mentioned defensive ball curl does
3. "stalkers or rangers" question: stalkers was an old smite item that use to be good on rammus but is no longer in the game and i have replaced its text to be "stalkers or skirmishers"
Thank you for your analysis on my guide. your eyes and input have been much appreciated!
the other ones i believe i fixed and clarified where they were/ are in the guide.
Although in theory and at face value zhonyas seems like a very good buy, the implications of going untargetable can actual hurt you and your team in the team fight stages of the game.
First of all with the items: Banshee's Veil is a horrible first item suggestion as most teams are AD heavier and mid laners usually become a threat later on anyways. Same for Randuin's Omen. The passive AS reduction and critical strike damage reduction are relevant in late game, not early game.
You suggest Turbo Chemtank and Iceborn Gauntlet as late game transitions. Glory is really expensive for the stats it gives so it's in a bad state atm. If you were to still take it, why do you take it late game when you can take use of the active well in early game? Why not just enjoy the benefit of the active throughout the game.
Iceborn Gauntlet is relevant for early/mid-game fights as your damage actually matters. Rammus' damage is much smaller portion of the team's damage in late game so Gauntlet's passive is not that relevant anymore but you suggest it as a late game item.
Turbo Chemtank- As of the the new changes to righteous glory (it only affecting one person) i will be moving it to a situational item, however it is now a better early game ganking item as oppose to a late game team fight one like i had perceived it .
Iceborn Gauntlet- In my opinion this isnt a usually a good early game item, cause i think its not as safe as the others, however i think it does well on rammus through the early and late game because it becomes a safer item to build and also its passive radius/ spell blade effect scales off of armor, meaning the later in the game you are the larger the radius. and this item is for its utility not damage.
Randuin's Omen- I like this item for its base stats and active, although i agree its passives are a lot better in the late game. since the nerfs to Deadman's Plate and crit chance being more prominent in season 6, i prefer this to deadman's as a usual first item.
Banshee's Veil- This in my opinion is the best, first mr item regardless of stage of game against high ap teams on rammus, but that being said most of the time you'll be getting an armor item first
gives good defenses and other buffs plus lane pushing could lways come in handy
so i played an ARAM last night and got my first taste of Rammus, me and my mate watched my engage movement speed hit 1k... it was rather crazy, but i realised how much fun you can have with a rammus, so what advice would you give to a rammus player starting his first few games? Any obvious traps or scenarios that i should look out for?
beware of early threats like lee sin, udyr, shaco and try to gank solo lanes more than bot lane until you become more comfortable. also pick up distortion enchant early, cant stress that enough
