Downvoted. It's very lame to claim you have updated your guide IN JULY when you don't even mention the huge changes introduced in 7.10 IN MAY.

guide updated and should be fixed to account for most if not all updates, although i am human and may have missed something

Really? The whole guide doesn't mention a single time the changes in patch 7.10 and you still claim it's updated? Wow. Just wow.

Hi, thank you for this guide. I have some questions about it:
  • "Defensive Ball Curl will be canceled after 1 second if you use powerball and likewise powerball is canceled by defensive ball curl after 1 second as well. However use this to your advantage in the jungle level 2 and onward." How do you use this to your advantage?
  • The section about Smite says Season 6*. The text says Season 5. Is any of that section still valid for season 7?
  • What is a leash?
  • What's the meaning of "try to get as far around your target as possible"?
  • The information about Enchantment: Cinderhulk is outdated. Now it only gives 400 health. Is it still recommended?
  • What is "all-inning"?
  • I don't understand very well the item builds. What's the purpose of the final build example? Are you supposed to build those precise items in that order?

Rammus Da Turtle (1) | January 30, 2017 4:17pm
thanks for your questions! First of all if its in the guide then it is still viable if not optimal. Ive benn updating this guide since season 4 so there are mistakes scattered through out the guide, and hard to catch.
1. this section is still valid
2. a leash is at the start of the game when your teammates damage the camp you start at but dont kill it to help you get level 2
3. Try to corral your target by blocking off their exit path by walking behind them
4. Cinderhulk, unless drastic changes are made to rammus, will always be the most viable on him
5. All-inning is an all out assault on an enemy a form of "all in" just a different tense
6. Final build example would be the most likely/ optimal build to go in a game, although you should refer to the situational items if you need to deviate from the build. ideal build order should be your jungle item, ninja tabi, locket of the iron solari, thornmail, warmogs armor, spirit visage

Thank you for the clarifications. Looks like you missed one of my questions, though:
Alonshow wrote:

You might want to correct these things in the guide:
  • The section about Smite says Season 6*. The text says Season 5.
  • The information about Enchantment: Cinderhulk is outdated. Now it only gives 400 health.
  • About Cinderhulk Enchantment you say it gives a "25% bonus health". The item description says "15% bonus health".
  • "Your armor buff and heal from Hunter's Talisman": Hunter's Talisman doesn't provide an armor buff.

There are a few more things I don't understand:
  • The sections about Smite recommend the Stalker's Blade, but they also recommend the Skirmisher's Saber. However, only the Stalker's Blade is in the item build. Can you explain?
  • "i prefer the cool down reduction of summoners over the armor buff". What cooldown reduction? What armour buff?
  • "Shortly after getting your rangers or stalkers..." What rangers?
  • "when taking down a turret, inhibitor, nexus or even cs-ing for a Targon's Brace stack, make sure to have Defensive Ball Curl active as much as possible to deal more damage that target". How does Defensive Ball Curl deal damage to an inhibitor?
  • "You can also use this to fish out people from under turret due to the mechanic where the enemy must follow you in order to basic attack": Can you explain a bit more how to use this? Looks like in order to make this useful you need the help of a teammate that attacks the enemy while you move away, because you can't attack while you move away. Or maybe you use it in combination with Defensive Ball Curl and Tremmors?
  • "Planning on ganking is a good thing to do early due to your high base utility". What does this mean? What is "your high base utility"?
  • What is a "strong pick comp"?

I know it's late in the season, but I have to ask: what do you think of Zhonya's? I feel like it's a decent 5th or 6th item if you're ahead. The AP gives you that extra damage for your Ulti, and since it persists through Zhonya's active it can be a safe way to damage their entire team in the late game, allowing you to keep the pressure on. I've personally been using it when I'm well ahead and have had a lot of success. What's your opinion on it?

On full tank rammus zhonyas is one of the worse items to go in my opinion- despite obvious synergies as you mentioned with his ult armor and ap, its not enough benefit due to poor scaling on his ult and doesnt make him do a lot of damage when not building ap. Furthermore, the stasis effect of zhonyas is awful on tank rammus because when you are untargetable, it means you lose the ability to tank for your carries or divert damage away from another melee team mate.
Although in theory and at face value zhonyas seems like a very good buy, the implications of going untargetable can actual hurt you and your team in the team fight stages of the game.

why u have campirism i cant understand. can you explain?

Rammus Da Turtle (1) | July 28, 2016 12:46am
when youre in the jungle it gives good sustain due to your Ws magic damage and synergizes well with that hunters talisman. so against camps like wolves and birds with several monsters its beneficial cause it procs your w often. I just find the sustain more valuable than the ad and ap cause your early game is your weakest point.

Your item order makes no sense and has questionable items. Scaling runes are also questionmarks as Rammus doesn't really enjoy late-game stats as he has problems surviving early game so flat runes help him out more.

First of all with the items: Banshee's Veil is a horrible first item suggestion as most teams are AD heavier and mid laners usually become a threat later on anyways. Same for Randuin's Omen. The passive AS reduction and critical strike damage reduction are relevant in late game, not early game.

You suggest Turbo Chemtank and Iceborn Gauntlet as late game transitions. Glory is really expensive for the stats it gives so it's in a bad state atm. If you were to still take it, why do you take it late game when you can take use of the active well in early game? Why not just enjoy the benefit of the active throughout the game.

Iceborn Gauntlet is relevant for early/mid-game fights as your damage actually matters. Rammus' damage is much smaller portion of the team's damage in late game so Gauntlet's passive is not that relevant anymore but you suggest it as a late game item.

Thank you for pointing these out. When making this guide i stress the flexibility of items with whatever situation pops up, especially in the building supporty section as well as thornmail, and situational items explanations. The itemse are not given in order of which i find them effective- they are given in what point of the game i'd recommend picking them up.

Turbo Chemtank- As of the the new changes to righteous glory (it only affecting one person) i will be moving it to a situational item, however it is now a better early game ganking item as oppose to a late game team fight one like i had perceived it .

Iceborn Gauntlet- In my opinion this isnt a usually a good early game item, cause i think its not as safe as the others, however i think it does well on rammus through the early and late game because it becomes a safer item to build and also its passive radius/ spell blade effect scales off of armor, meaning the later in the game you are the larger the radius. and this item is for its utility not damage.

Randuin's Omen- I like this item for its base stats and active, although i agree its passives are a lot better in the late game. since the nerfs to Deadman's Plate and crit chance being more prominent in season 6, i prefer this to deadman's as a usual first item.

Banshee's Veil- This in my opinion is the best, first mr item regardless of stage of game against high ap teams on rammus, but that being said most of the time you'll be getting an armor item first

What would be your opinion on having a zz rots portal on Raammus?

gives good defenses and other buffs plus lane pushing could lways come in handy
1
Rammus Da Turtle (1) | October 9, 2016 9:43am
i really enjoy the item, usually a good pick up when you need map pressure or have a lot of hp. i consider it even core against a team that has a lot of ap as seen at the top of my guide

so i played an ARAM last night and got my first taste of Rammus, me and my mate watched my engage movement speed hit 1k... it was rather crazy, but i realised how much fun you can have with a rammus, so what advice would you give to a rammus player starting his first few games? Any obvious traps or scenarios that i should look out for?

beware of early threats like lee sin, udyr, shaco and try to gank solo lanes more than bot lane until you become more comfortable. also pick up distortion enchant early, cant stress that enough
