In response to the comments I'm going to add a new section--how many philo stones and how fast should i get them.

The essential equation is how confident are you with your lane partner (do you know them in real life) how good of a combo are they with poppy and do they have a strong early game.

I would always recommend 1 philo stone but I agree with snoozberry--if you're lane partner is very strong start boots and three pots.

TheDude420 I looked you up and you never play ranked. Please don't comment on this build--ranked play is much different than normal.

poppy is NOT bad early game its your noob as P-Stones forcing you to stand back and recover letting your opponets free farm....pure AD runes are a must have .... and im regards to the "Highest rate Builds being AD ( what can you do Some noobs are stupid) AD Poppy is as useless as a DPS ash.... sure you can slow noobs to death but when you stop fighting noobs what can you do? nothing but get rushed with a nooby low damage DPS champion.....bad is bad

Nice build! i allways play like this but i like to start with boots +3xHP becauze poppy is bad early game.
I go like this:
Boots +3xHP or 2xHP+1MP ->Phil stone ->sheen( sometimes sheen first then phil) ->boots upgrade -> phil stone -> Trinity force ->banshes or dancers or Frozen mallet because late game poppys really squishy :P

looked at your build and it was good. +1 since you use 2 philostones just like my build. its really useful. other people just dont see it.

still disagree the stones will force a turtle vs anyone with a decent pree game build Phantom Dancers are useless now that the 30% dodge has been removed id highly recomend a sheen rush followd buy Magic Pen Boots then a Lich Bane and a AP + 150+30% cap nothing beats the damage out put with current items try it and respond to me plz as far as runes go poppy is 1 of the few champion that Pure AD runes ( + the 80% sheen buff) lvl 4ish makes you insanly clutch a stun/ Pound will leave a champions lvl 6- HP Crushed enuff for a team make to pick him off while your on Cooldown movment speed wont make up for the pure damage these items give weak builds lead to weak team mates you should reasearch everything a champ has to offer befor making a guide for him all im saying is try it and as for the high rated builds being AD its most likly becaz when they were made the AP + 30% cap wasnt avaliable or they havent read a update regaurdless this Burst damage will crush yourpoppy see for your self (and bob your almost not worth a comment go play AD poppy bro)

Thanks for replying! I did a few tests and I do like to grab the sheen before the second philo stone. It lets you last hit creeps at 2/3 health with DB and keeps lane pressure. Good suggestion.

Considering all of the highest rated builds are AD right now I think AD poppy is pretty damn viable. Trinity force and phantom dancer provide the sustained damage needed to take down any carry.

Double philosopher's stones is successful because in 5v5 and solo Q over about 1400 it's harder and harder to get early game kills.

I used to agree with you and I would rush boots and sheen when I was lower ranked. To prove my point, with that build i recently went 9/2/6 and ended with around 8000 gold earned in the match. In a match of equivalent length with double philo stones I went 6/6/6 and earned almost 11,000 gold by the end of the match.

The build works and works well...I might rethink your comment. Thank you for complimenting the build's layout.

honestly dude 2 Philosipher stones.....just no next to no ap ( i realize you say its a AD guide but all of poppys moves are AP......) and low AD for a AD poppy ( that i would never build low damage out put compared to AP) COMPLETLY wasted runes wasting your pree game gold on regen items almost forces you to turtle from weakness completely noob its not meta or anything but noob try hard **** (-1) (was displayed decently enuff but the build its self is useless)
