This guide has not yet been updated for the current season. Please keep this in mind while reading. You can see the most recently updated guides on the browse guides page
She is a ranged tank melter. Her mobility will allow her to dodge your pull. This is extremely bad because if you cant land that pull back then she will kite you to oblivion! Furthermore, even if you land that pull she can knock you back as a disengage and kill you.
Neeko
Neeko has massive range on you and you cant hide behind your minions for safety. Your only hope is to land that pull on her and then stay on her activating your passive. Still this is hard because she is squirrely with her invisibility clone. Makes it hard to all in her.
Kled
Kled will go about even with you for a simple reason. You both benefit from long all in fights. That said, here is how you beat him. Before you both go all in on your fight you need to build up your W's passive. Have your shield ready to activate at max. His courage can only start to build up after he loses Scarl. Save your pull for after you dismount him from Scarl. Then when he tries to kite you with his shotgun blast, and he will, thats when you pull his butt back in and dominate his face!
Wukong
The only thing Wukong has on you is his clone. Just be sure that when you are ulting him it is the real him and not his clone. Ulting his clone will not active your ult but it will put it on cooldown. Essentially wasting your ultimate for nothing.
Darius
Darius is basically free kills for you and here is why.
1) You both benefit from long fights but you just do it better. He wants to hit you multiple times to get max stacks for his bleed and then ult you. Thats fine tho, as he is hitting you for bleed stacks and what he thinks will be a KILLER ULT you will be building up your W's shield passive. When you are a good ways into your 1 v 1 just pop your W. He will ult and it wont kill you. Then just finish him off.
2) His "bonus" bleed damage from long fights doesnt give him the edge in the fight that he is use to. While yes you will be taking bleed damage from a long fight, he will be taking Magic Damage from your passive circle so you two break even on that.
3) Positioning. To beat him this is the only thing you really need to worry about. First, bait out his pull, yours is longer so if you can bait his and use yours you'll have the upper hand. Secondly, just be sure not to get hit with the edge of his spin. That heal is nasty and you can easily avoid it. Either pull him in and stay close on him or keep some distance and poke him down with your Q. It out ranges his Q.
Kha'Zix
Having Kha'Zix as your jungler is nice because of the opportunity of creating two 1 v 1's.
Kha'Zix gets bonus damage whenever he is fighting an enemy champion 1 v 1. Your Q does bonus damage if it only hits 1 enemy unit. So in any scinario when it is a 2 v 2 you can ult 1 and issolate the enemy champion. You are build to dominate a 1 v 1. They have no escape and you now get bonus damage on your main ability so just destroy them like the Warlord you are. While you are busy giving some poor soul a reason to uninstall Kha'Zix has also now been issolated giving him bonus damage on ALL OF HIS ABILITIES! Kha'Zix is built do destroy in a 1 v 1 as well though you want to keep in mind he isnt as tanky as you and he is an assassin so if you have the choice to ult the sqooshy adc or the enemy teams tank, you need to take the tank and leave Kha'Zix to kill the adc. Hopefully he will end him quickly and if by some chance you tank isnt dead by the time your ultimate ends Kha'Zix will be ready to help you end him aftewards.
Jax
Jax and Mord have good synergy because you both do good damage and both have some cc. When Jax ganks your lane it will be very hard for the enemy laner to get away.
Lead with your pull back as the enemy will naturally try to run away the moment Jax shows his face. You lead because Jax isnt close enough to get his stun off yet. Once youve pulled them in then just focus on doing damage. By this point Jax will be in range to do his jump stun combo. All the while you are laying on that damage. If he isnt dead when the stun ends he will be soon. Just stay on him with your circle damage and autos, landing those Q's whenever its up. Easy Kills.
.
Note: Dont be afraid or upset to give Jax the kills. A fed Jax is always good for the team and you will still be getting ahead because you will now be out farming your enemy because... well they are dead now. So just remember the kill isnt necessary for you to get the lead on your laner. It may be for Jax to get ahead of the enemy jungler.
.
Bonus Note: If you get the kills dont fret either. A fed Mord is hell to deal with. You have the potential to single handedly control every team fight and secure its victory.
Draven
The same reasons why Vayne is so good with you are true of Draven. He does have a little less mobility but he makes up for it in his just MASSIVE auto damage. Draven should easily be able to kill whoever you don't ult with the help of his support.
Synergy with Draven is better than Vaynes though because of his passive and how it will allow him to snowball HARD! If you are basically removing all threat to Draven when you gank that allows him to all in no worries whoever you left behind and get the benefits of his passive. A kill and tons of gold from his stacks will make him a monster mid and late game.
Even better though, if someone on your team manages to feed an enemy champion and now Draven is in major danger every team fight, don't panic. Its fine. Whether it was the enemy mid laner or the enemy jungler you can protect him and ensure victory in team fights. Save your ult for when the fed enemy makes his appearance. Ult him and remove him and you from the equation. Now the fed Draven can mop up the rest of the enemy team without worry or danger. Everything goes to plan you probably wont kill the enemy in your ult unless you are fed too but that's okay. You will be tanky by now in the game and the enemy shouldn't be able to kill you during your ult. You both will probably be getting low by the time it ends. Unfortantly for him when it does end you have a whole team to help you finish him off where as his team has been annihilated by a very fed Draven. Kill him, Get the Ace, and move on to pushing objectives to win the game. It will work for every team fight. Just be sure not to blow your ult getting a meaningless kill. Prioritize team fight victories. Win Games!
Vayne
Vayne has high mobility and is a great duelist. The same things that make her such a threat to you are what make her so good to have as your adc. Whether you make a teleport bot lane play or if you are fighting as a team you can issolate 1 champion and leave her to now bully whoever you left alone.
Example: You teleport bot lane against an enemy Thresh and Jhin. Whoever you pick to ult you should be able to come out on top. Ult the Jhin and Thresh is now alone with the Vayne adc and her support to just end his life and if you dont finish the Jhin then can help you once your ult ends. Should you choose the Thresh (which i would recomend) the Jhin is left alone, no peel, no heals, and no escape abilities of his own. Your teammates should be able to just DESTROY HIM! You will most likely dominate the thresh in your ult because he has no damage and you have plenty, but again if you dont your bot lane will be able to help you after your ult ends. Either way you go it should be an EASY double kill.
Leona
With Mord top your team already has a tank so this definatly opens the opportunity for your team to pick a damage dealing support.
That said, if you choose to add on another tank the two to go for are Thresh and Leona.
You want supports that have fantastic cc and Leona and Thresh are the best at it.
(If you havent yet, read the synergy between Mord and Vayne \ Draven to understand why having cc engage is important for Mordekaiser to make plays.
.
As Leona, whenever Mordekaiser ults an enemy your job is now to lockdown the poor soul who Mord left behind. With your endless chain of cc you will just hold them down while your adc bullies them to literal death. Once they are dead, and that should be a quick kill, stick close by for when Mordekaiser's Ult ends. If he hasnt killed the enemy yet. Lock them down again and let your adc scoop up the kill.
.
Note: Mordekaiser's ult is terrifying. The adc will be running wherever "back" is so position yourself there for when his ult ends. Example: Mord ganks bot lane and ults an enemy then you kill the other enemy. The one Mord ulted will be at the edge of his ult's circle nearest to his turret. Trying his best to be close to it for a retreat once it ends. If you are in the right positioning it wont matter. Once it ends he will be met with a face full of glorious Leona cc while the 2 bullies beat him up.
Thresh
With Mord top your team already has a tank so this definatly opens the opportunity for your team to pick a damage dealing support.
That said, if you choose to add on another tank the two to go for are Thresh and Leona.
You want supports that have fantastic cc and Leona and Thresh are the best at it.
(If you havent yet, read the synergy between Mord and Vayne \ Draven to understand why having cc engage is important for Mordekaiser to make plays.
.
As Thresh your job is simple. Once you know Mordekaiser is coming be sure to have your abilities off cooldown. You will need them after he makes a play with his ult. When he removes an enemy from play thats when you make your move. You do whatever you have to to get on that other enemy. If your ADC is out of position or perhaps if you flash hooked to get to him and left your adc behind, thats fine. Toss your lantern back to bring that adc back into the fight for the damage. Secure the kill for your adc. Ideally you only have to blow one hook and one flay on this enemy. Now... Your flay will get off cooldown first. Position yourself on the as far up towards the enemy's "safe zone". (Safe Zone being wherever the Mord Ulted Enemy feels he needs to run to to stay alive). Now, If Mord has not killed the enemy and his ult ends you will be there to meet him with your cc. Flay him back towards your adc and Mord. Should he still not be dead after this, land that next hook. If your team cant clean that up then they suck. That is an easy kill for them!
.
Note: Mord also has a pull back so if your hook is still on cooldown flay the enemy back towards Mord and not the adc. If the adc can get on him then great but Mordekaiser is the one who will be able to keep the enemy from escaping for sure.
Secure the Kill! Thats your job, whoever it goes to doesnt matter. Your job is to make sure it goes to someone! No Escape!
Pyke
You have poor synergy with Pyke because when you use your ult it removes the opportunity for him to really make the best of his own ult. That said, the synergy is low but not non-existent.
1) Pyke has great CC for helping you stay on top of the enemy. You are much slower then him so if he can help keep the enemy close for you to whack on then you will get kills easy.
2) Pykes ult is best for those squishy champions or champions who are *already* low. This works out well because of how his Ult can be used multiple times. In team fights (so long as no one enemy is super fed) you need to lead the fight with ulting the enemy teams main tank. Being a tank yourself you don't need to worry much about dying to this enemy, in fact, you are tanky and have massive damage so start laying it on. Because you are ulting the tank while he is still full health you wont kill this enemy while your ult is going. That's completely fine tho!
Outside of your ult the enemy team just lost their main front liner and likely a lot of cc. This will let Pyke and the rest of your team engage hard! Because Pyke is an assassin he will be able to get any squishy champion low enough to ult and he will start executing them. When your ult ends he should still have his ult because of its ability to resets if he kills them with it. Now the enemy teams tank is low health and probably alone. This an easy opportunity for Pyke to come clean up all the work you've done getting him low. This gets Pyke another kill which means your team is getting a fed assassin which is always useful. Furthermore, you don't lose anything. Due to his passive, you will still get the gold from the kill. Now your team has a fed Pyke Assassin AND a fed Mord Warlord!
It is difficult to pull off but if you can do this then you will win the game. Getting 2 champions fed for the price of 1 cant be stopped.
Brand
Brand has no synergy with Mord simply because of how his ult works. He NEEDS all enemies to be around and clustered. Your ult removes one enemy from that equation. There is no way around this like there is with Pyke's ult. He simply isnt a good pairing with Mord. Still a strong champion but if you can get a Pyke instead do it.
Furthermore, Brand is all ap and so is Mord, easy for the enemy to build against that. If you have Pyke they can't build against you both.
Pyke is the better choice if you are looking for a damage support (which i do recommend doing).
