First: Rize is not a SOLO Character, he needs a teammate at the Early game.
second: expect to die a couple of times.
third: you have to be protected by the map, don´t let them surprise you from the bush and if they do, you have the RUNEPRISON under your sleeve

with this your ryze will be safe and will do his part in the game.

Why so few runes cooldown Reduction?
because the game does not allow less than 2.1 sec cooldown at OVERLOAD . If you want to trust on more runes will make OVERLOAD go whit 1 sec cooldown go ahead i can't promise to do it for sure accordingly to that i recomend focus on mana and penetration, if you want you can use some armor or whatever you want.

As I see in other builds This are the best maseries, Ryze use the AD for lane at the early game then at Late game AP maseries are useless. We don't pick defense because the spell vamp is our best defense. And the utilitis are all to reach the strengh of spirit (the tree)

Why not boots ? Because one rod of ages help more than boots, if you need to run are f***ed and they will get you anyway. The 3 rod of ages, (can be 4 is you let the spell vamp out) each one gives you 725 of mana and 630 health.

as few know or appreciate spell flux low magical resistance of the enemy with which oveload and Rune prison are more effective

Flash is your run method doing it across the walls and To the tower inclusive

and ignite is for which escape in low health the will die after all.

also you can try with heal when you hold on for your spell cooldowns

don't be afraid to use the ultimate because charged quickly through the passive of Ryze If they appear just Let them some space and cooldown your ultimate whit the other skills
