Introduction

Why Ryze in Dominion? Ryze is a great damage dealer and is great to be the one going "bottom point". Because of his high early game damage he will harras the opponent very easily and with a little bit of luck he will capture the other point on the "bottom" securing an easier.

Ryze spells:

Passive: Arcane Mastery

When Ryze casts a spell, all other spells have their cooldown reduced by 1 second.

Q: Overload

Ryze blasts enemy unit for 30 / 55 / 80 / 105 / 130 (+20% of ability power) plus 8% of his max mana in magic damage (+100% of ability power).

Cooldown 3.5 seconds
Cost 70 mana
Range 675

W: Rune Prison

Ryze traps an enemy unit, preventing them from moving for 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 and dealing 60 / 95 / 120 / 165 / 200 (+60% of ability power) plus 5% o f his max mana in magic damage.

Cooldown 14 seconds
Cost 80 / 95 / 110 / 125 / 140 mana
Range 625

E: Spell Flux

Ryze unleashes a bouncing orb of magical power which bounces to enemy units or himself, up to 5 times. Each bounce deals 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 / 130 (+35% of ability power) magic damage and reduces the target's Magic Resistance by 15.

Cooldown 14 seconds
Cost 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120 mana
Range 675

R: Desperate Power

Ryze becomes supercharged, passivly grants 75 / 150 / 225 mana, also gaining 15/20/25% spell vamp and causing his spells to deal 50% AoE damage for 5 / 6 / 7 seconds.

Cooldown 70 / 60 / 50 seconds
Range 200

Skill Sequence

In dominion you start by getting a point to Q,W and E. After this you want to max your Q as fast as possible. Then you give out points 2 and 2 into W and E and ofcourse you give points to your ulti when you can in lvl 6,11 and 16.

Ryze's strenght lies in comboing the opponent a few usual combos is Q > W > E > Q followed by another E and Q late game with enough cooldown reduction

But if the opponent got some kind of saving ability this combo will be interrupted after his first Q so then you might start W > Q > E > Q just to make sure the combo lands.

All combos can be followed up by an ignite if you feel that the combo puts the opponent low enough.

Runes

I've picked the runes for some extra damage in the early game and giving him great sustainability to continue harrasing opponents. All runes sept the magic pen reds can be changed based on personal preferences but I'd suggest getting cooldown or mana building runes in that case.

Masteries

I put 9 points in the offensive tree to get magic penetration, starting ap and CD reduction, then I put the points left into utility because Ryze gets extra mana, mana regen, and Cooldown reduction which is great for Ryze's damage and sustainability. If you want to put a point on summoner spells masteries i will suggest that you take away one point in Mental Force it is in the offensive tree(Gives you 1 less ap if you take it away).

Items

I start with Boots of Speed and Tear of the Goddess for some great starting damage and Tear of Goddess gives you stacking mana. Then if the other team has a usual team composition I get Glacial Shroud for some damage from mana, Coldoown reduction and protection against ad's. Then I upgrade my boots to Sorcerer's Shoes for magic penentration. Then a Catalyst the Protector for some health and more damage from his mana. Then I upgrade my Glacial Shroud and Catalyst the Protector to a Frozen Heart and a Banshee's Veil for MR and Armor but these items is only good if they have a usual team composition If they are only Ap's you should get more MR items like Abyssal Scepter instead of Frozen Heart and if they are only Ad's you should get items like Zhonya's Hourglass instead of Banshee's Veil. Then i get a Archangel's staff because i got high mana and will get nice ap damage from it. Then the last two items I grab is a Rabadon's Deathcap that gives you 30% of your already exsisting ap then a Rod of Ages for some ap, Health and more mana wich will also buff your damage. This will give you realy nice damage but if you want more Sustainability you should get some spell vamp items like Will of the Ancients. If you think the other team got a lot of "stealthy" character you should by a Oracle's Extract.

Summoner Spells

Here I grab Ghost and Ignite because ghost gives you speed which is very good in Dominion if you have too rush too a base or get out of a fight. And ignite for securing a kill wich might lead to you capturing a point. But if you dont think ignite is the spell for you I think you should choose Promote for pushing lanes or Garisson for protecting your point.

Other spells:

Clairvoyance gives you sight over the map but this spell isn't optimal for dominion but can still be taken during some premade games.

Heal if you think your inexperienced with ryze so you will need some extra hp then sure or if you plan on baiting people for you to kill.

Clarity if you realy think you will need that extra mana or else no.

Exhaust if you think it can save you or help you securing the kill or save a team mate from a feed opponent.

Revive has a 10 mins CD so in a normal Dominion game you will be able to use it 1 time but it will give you some extra speed and might save an entire late game If you put 1 point on Preservation in the defense tree.

Smite realy? you are not going to jungle in Dominion.

Cleanse if the other team is very heavy on cc's cleanse might help you in teambattles but for the most part exhaust is better.

Flash is a realy good spell just not as good as ghost in Dominion but if you prefer flash for escaping over walls or just flash > rune prison someone then go ahead

To get some of the Power from the spells you will have to give a point on Summoner's Wrath, Summoner's Resolve or Summoner's Insight

Summary

Ryze is a great pusher and protecter in Dominion. His great strenght in Dominion is his ability to combo weaker opponents down in the matter of seconds. I realy like playing Ryze and i hope you'll enjoy it as much as i do. This is my first guide i've made and i hope i will get great response on it. Make a comment and say what i can improve so i will be a better guide maker in the future. Thx for reading my guide and i hope you find it very instructive and easy to understand.
