I've tryed the build "tower tank" and I always had S or S + and I carryed the game.
We were in 44/70 (44 for us) and we wined without ace ! All wanted to surrend at 30 minutes but they don't understood we can win, finally they listened to me and I had the only S from my team and only one honor, I was sad but I always ran after the ennemies and my mates watched me play with food :'(
But I take tabi ninja maybe better, I don't know :/

I think if you would go Gnar support at all, that it would be much better to build tanky rather than AP. Targon start, sightstone, locket and maybe like iceborn or frozen mallet 3rd or 4th item. Or if your snowballing the game get both for teamfights. I don't think its a good idea to build AP as Gnar support since you'll be underfarmed and underleveled and run a very real risk of getting CC'd and instakilled before you can even use your ult or turn mega gnar. at least with tank you still have the ranged harass and as mega gnar a frontline support somewhat similar to braum. It could theoretically be pretty similar to Trundle support build-wise. I think he would also only work against either Braum/Trundle support champs or low damage low cc support like say Janna or Nami. Karma could outpoke bad, Soraka can play to far back and sustain through the poke, and alistar would be too dangerous. Just my 2 cents.

Honestly the tank build is a viable option, and the reason most people pick it is because Gnar is ridiculously difficult to control and tankiness covers up his weaknesses of high cooldowns and odd movement patterns. Though the issue here is you can't play tank on support. You have to land tags in order to go mega, and as mini gnar you can't tank well. So you've got a small window of massive tankiness but 90% of the game you're worthless. This build is built around a heavy kiting type of play, and I've fought soraka, karma, and all the other kiters, and come out ahead as long as I keep good map awareness. You still have the tank drop opportunities in mega form, and it works out fine.

Good catch on the quints and masteries. Looks like I made some typos updating to the new season. Yes, oppressor is the one to go, I think. For quints I recommend magic penetration or, crazy as it may sound, spell vamp. Health quints are a safer bet, but not recommended. Thanks for your comments!

Hi.
I was looking for a guide for Gnar's Gameplay and i saw yours. So i have few questions.

1) I see you don't give any advice for the Quint we have to use. Are we free to choose any quints we want or there are quints we hav to use more than others.

2)You seem to get used 34 points of Masteries while we have only 30 points of Masteries. Do you do an error ?
I decide to do an 12(with Oppressor)/18/0. What do you think about this ?

Now, I gonna test your build :)
