Hey,Galio main here. Was wondering why it is not recommended for Galio to buy Rod Of Ages anymore? In my opinion Galio is stronger with Rod of Ages as first item, not Hextech Protobelt-01.

Rod of ages is one of the weakest item since quite a long time, without a tear item it's quite bad, while the Protobelt provide a cheap and quite powerful power spike (and each item needed to build it are nice power spiked too)

great guide!!! I have a question on the rune minion dematerializer what exactly does it do and its benefit for Gallo? cuz what I think of minion dematerialized is just to push wave/ get cannon

is a useful item for pushing, BUT its secondary effect makes it so that you do increase damage to the type of minion that you dematerialized with it. So it helps you push out waves faster at every stage of the game after you use it, which is basically what Galio is constantly looking to do.

There's a mistake on the runes section, when it's talking about Minion Dematerializer, the name for it above the icon is "chrysalis" which isn't a rune anymore

Im an Jhin Main from EUW (climbed from Bronze 4 to Silver 4 recently) and i searched for a secondary Role to play and i found Galio in midlane quite interesting. He is so much fun for me, that i started palying him instantly. Your Guide helped me alot, but still i loose many games just because he feels so weak. Is he really that weak or is it just me, playing him still wrong?
And do you think you I can climb with Galio out of Silver, and into Gold?
Last question: Because he is so much fun to play, is he a good Champion to One-Trick, is it viable?

As a old galio main unforntly the new galio doesent excite me no more :( (cause he is the typical tank ) . I will try your build, and i hope i rekindle that love for galio again :(

I thought galio was a tank? why is he using these ruins?

Galio is played full AP so I would not call him a tank. Though I should have mentioned that the Aftershock keystone in Resolve is also a viable option, maybe I will update that soon.

So, your guide is for Galio mid. Understandable because of his kit, but I see people play top too. Still, I think Galio deserves more recognition than he's currently getting, so if I get the chance to try him out in mid lane at any chance, I'll be applying your guide. All your videos are interesting too, thanks for the hard work.

I think the problem for him on top lane is that bruisers are good against him and other tanks have a lot of sustain, so mid just suits him better :D

Hey, I have been a Galio main for a while now but after some time no matter how I played or what I built the games just kept going bad. And then I found your guide and dude, thank you so much. Im finally able to play my favorite champion again and it has been so much fun.

Hi,

1. Liandry's Torment gives the same amount of Health and AP as Morellonomicon but costs 100 Gold more. You trade the 15 magic pen. and heal reduction for the burn dmg and 10% extra dmg when being 5 seconds in combat. I would only build it top lane when I'm against a tank like Maokai that builds MR but otherwhise Morellonomicon is probably better.

2. Yes it's supposed to be for mid only, I don't know where to select "middle" for the guide. The thing about Luden's is that a lot of power from the mages got shifted to the 3 Lost Chapter items, so they are really OP because it has nearly 100% gold efficiency even without the effect. Also you need the Mana because his Q costs 130 Mana and Galio is very reliant on building AP to be a good champion, his base stats got nerfed to hard and his AP scalings are very high. You could build Thornmail or Zhonya's as second item against a bruiser if you need it though. Make sure to build Rabadon's as 3rd item and then go Luden's as 4th.
