[Season 14] Yuumi The Magical Cat Guide ᓚᘏᗢ

By pastelzia
Introduction

Welcome to the
Yuumi Guide
for Season 14

Hello! My name is Pastel and I'm a Yuumi main. In this guide I look forward to teaching you how to play the Support champion, Yuumi The Magical Cat!

The League of Legends champion Yuumi is portrayed as a magical cat, full of love and friendship. Yuumi fits the role of an enchanter Support that provides shielding, healing, buffing, and some crowd control to her friends and allies. Yuumi is relatively easy to play, with a laid back playstyle. Meow!

Abilities

Abilities

Passive: Feline Friendship

PASSIVE: Periodically, Yuumi's next basic attack or ability hit against an enemy champion will heal Yuumi based off of her level and a percent of her ability power. If using a basic attack to trigger Feline Friendship, it will be enhanced with bonus range and becomes an uncancelable windup. If Yuumi uses You and Me! on an allied champion within a few seconds of triggering Feline Friendship, or if Yuumi is already attached to a current friend, the healing will also apply to them.

PASSIVE: While Yuumi is attached to a current friend, Yuumi forms a special bond with them. Whenever they kill enemy champions or minions, they gain permanent Feline Friendship stacks. The ally with the highest Feline Friendship stacks becomes Yuumi's Best Friend, which empowers her abilities with additional effects while she is attached to them as her current friend.

Tip:

Prioritize using Prowling Projectile when Feline Friendship is available, to ensure that you are healing your allies whenever possible.
Additionally, prioritize attaching to the ally that you want to be your Best Friend as soon as possible to ensure that Yuumi is Best Friends with the most optimal ally. This way, Yuumi can make use of her Feline Friendship's Best Friend bonus to her abilities on the best ally.

Q: Prowling Projectile

ACTIVE: Yuumi fires an errant missile in the target direction that deals magic damage upon impact to an enemy. If the target is a enemy champion, the missile also reveals and slows them. If Prowling Projectile is used while Yuumi is attached using You and Me!, she can steer the missile in the direction of the player's cursor for a few moments, until the missile accelerates in its current direction to deal increased magic damage and apply a stronger slow, that quickly decays to the original amount over a few seconds. The missile will stop upon hitting an enemy, or after a few seconds of flying.

Yuumi and her current friend that Yuumi is attached to using You and Me! can see the effective range of Prowling Projectile while it is being used in flight.

PASSIVE: Feline Friendship Best Friend Bonus. When Yuumi is attached to her Best Friend, Prowling Projectile always applies it's enhanced slow against enemy champions. Additionally, when Prowling Projectile hits an enemy champion, Yuumi grants her Best Friend bonus magic damage on-hit for a duration. The bonus magic damage amount is increased by a percent of her Best Friend's critical strike chance.

Tip:

You can use You and Me! at the same time as you are steering Prowling Projectile. Use You and Me! on different allies to extend the range of Prowling Projectile to reach far away enemies.

W: You and Me!

ACTIVE: Yuumi channels for a very small amount of time, then dashes to a target allied champion and Yuumi attaches to them upon arrival. While attached, Yuumi is untargetable (except from turrets and in-flight projectiles targeting her) and casts her spells from the current friend's position. The cooldown starts upon completing the channel. You and Me! can be recast after a very small amount of time after attachment. Yuumi will be knocked down by any immobilizing crowd control during the dash and the cooldown of this ability will be set on a small cooldown and Yuumi cannot use You and Me! during this time.

RECAST: Yuumi can switch her current friend to a different ally, refreshing the recast. She will detach automatically if her current friend dies or under certain circumstances Realm of Death, etc. If recast without a valid target or by on the ground, Yuumi will detach from her current friend and dash a small distance in the target direction, putting the ability on a short cooldown. Regardless of cooldown, You and Me! cannot be cast again for a very small amount of time after using it.

PASSIVE: Feline Friendship Best Friend Bonus. When Yuumi is attached to her Best Friend, Yuumi and the ally both gain helpful buffs and bonuses. Yuumi gains bonus heal and shield power, and her Best Friend gains healing on-hit.
Additionally, Yuumi starts with a point in You and Me! and Prowling Projectile instead has 6 level ranks.

Many Champion abilities can be affect Yuumi during You and Me! under certain circumstances such as when Yuumi has been detached from You and Me! recently, and a Champion ability has been used on her during the You and Me! animation, or when You and Me! was not active on an allied champion at the time of the ability cast.
Abilities that can be used at this time that will still affect Yuumi upon attaching include: in-flight projectiles & targeted ability/spell casts, tethers, delayed abilities, burn damage, and others.

Tip:

You and Me! can be cancelled by most hard crowd control abilities, so only use it if you are sure that Yuumi will not be at risk of having You and Me! cancelled. Yuumi will die most of the time if this gets cancelled during combat with enemies.
Also do not be afraid to ping your ally that you want to attach to a few times until they let you. :( TAKE THE CAT!

E: Zoomies

ACTIVE: Yuumi grants herself a shield and gains bonus Movement Speed and bonus attack speed while the shield holds. While attached, Yuumi's current friend is affected by Zoomies instead.

Tip:

Prioritize using Zoomies when an enemy uses a damaging spell that is likely to hit Yuumi or her ally that she is attached to, in order to block damage with her shield. Zoomies attack speed and Movement Speed is very useful, so using the ability just to buff your current friend is great too.

R: Final Chapter

ACTIVE: Yuumi and Book channel for a few seconds, launching 5 waves in the target direction over the duration. Yuumi can steer the direction of the waves if Final Chapter was initially casted while attached to a current friend. Detaching from a current friend causes Yuumi to lose the ability to steer Final Chapter's direction for the duration.

Final Chapter's waves have different effects for allied and enemy champions when hit. Allied champions are healed, until they meet the condition in which they are beyond maximum health. If the condition is met, the healing will be converted into a shield that lasts for a duration. Enemy champions take magic damage from each indiviidual wave, the first dealing full damage and subsequent dealing reduced damage, and are slowed for a small amount of time per wave, additionally the slow amount stacks and refreshes duration on subsequent hits.

Tip:

Prioritize using Final Chapter when Yuumi's nearby allies and her current friend are on lower health, to provide as much healing and utility as possible.

Skill Sequence

Skill Sequence

E: Zoomies

Shield, Movement Speed, and attack speed bonus.

Q: Prowling Projectile

Magic damage, slow, and ally on-hit bonus.

W: You and Me!

Bonus heal and shield power and ally on-hit healing.

R: Final Chapter

Healing, shielding, magic damage, and slow.
> > >

This is the most consistent and optimal skill sequence order for Yuumi in most games. It provides a good balance of damage and utility with her spells. This skill sequence order also is the best for compatibility with most champions in League of Legends, for consistent synergy.

Prioritizing maxing Prowling Projectile before You and Me! allows Yuumi to poke enemies easily throughout the early and mid-game, while also giving her ally more on-hit magic damage. Putting 3 leveling points into Prowling Projectile and then proceeding to max Zoomies is a possible variation of this leveling order because it gives Yuumi more damage in the early laning phase of the game.

Q: Prowling Projectile

Magic damage, slow, and ally on-hit bonus.

E: Zoomies

Shield, Movement Speed, and attack speed bonus.

W: You and Me!

Bonus heal and shield power and ally on-hit healing.

R: Final Chapter

Healing, shielding, magic damage, and slow.
> > >

This skill order focuses on prioritizing maxing Prowling Projectile before Zoomies, and allows Yuumi to poke enemies easily throughout the early and mid-game, while also giving her ally more on-hit magic damage. It's great for lane pressure and makes Yuumi a nuisance.

While still prioritizing maxing Zoomies second, this order isn't too bad with healing and shielding, as it will scale up once Yuumi begins to put points into Zoomies after Prowling Projectile. Overall, it's great for early lane poke and damage.

E: Zoomies

Shield, Movement Speed, and attack speed bonus.

W: You and Me!

Bonus heal and shield power and ally on-hit healing.

Q: Prowling Projectile

Magic damage, slow, and ally on-hit bonus.

R: Final Chapter

Healing, shielding, magic damage, and slow.
> > >

I like this skill sequence order because it gives you the most healing and shielding power, along with buffing. However, it's not that great if your bottom laner's champion or player is not very good with Yuumi. I recommend this leveling order only if you are in a duo with someone you trust. In most games you will need more offensive power than this skill sequence provides.

In certain situations and matchups, Prowling Projectile is not as useful to max second as You and Me! because maxing You and Me! second provides Yuumi with more heal and shield power, and additionally gives her ally more bonus healing on-hit.
This leveling order is the best if you have a hyper-carry like Kog'Maw, Vayne, Jinx, or if an ally champion that has good synergy with Yuumi has amassed a lot of kills, gold, and experience.

Summoner Spells

Summoner Spells

Heal

Heal is a defensive and overall great summoner spell for most enchanter supports. Heal scales with heal and shield power meaning this summoner spell is especially good for Yuumi, because she can pair Heal with heal and shield power items such as Redemption, Staff of Flowing Water, Ardent Censer, Mikael's Blessing, etc.

ACTIVE: Yuumi heals herself and the allied champion nearest to Yuumi's cursor. (Prioritizes the most wounded allied champion if no allied champions are near the cursor) Healing amount scales based on Yuumi's level, while also granting both champions including Yuumi herself Movement Speed for a small duration. Additionally, champions affected by subsequent Heal uses are healed significantly less health with the subsequent Heal cast(s).

Tip:

Avoid bringing two Heal summoner spells in the bottom lane, because champions affected by subsequent Heal uses are healed significantly less health with the subsequent Heal casts. This means that the healing provided by Heal will be much worse if both Yuumi and her bot laner use Heal in the same fight.

Ignite

Ignite is an aggressive summoner spell, and is usually a good option for most supports especially if they have an aggressive bot laner, such as Draven, Lucian, Tristana, etc. A champion duo like this gives maximum kill threat with Ignite.

ACTIVE: Yuumi sets the target enemy champion on fire for a few seconds, revealing them and dealing true damage over the duration, with the first instance of damage occurring instantly and subsequent ticks occurring every second after until the duration is over. The target is also inflicted with the grevious wounds debuff, reducing the enemy champion's healing recieved for the same duration.

Tip:

Avoid building Morellonomicon when using the Ignite summoner spell. This is because Morellonomicon and Ignite both provide Yuumi with the ability to apply the grievous wounds debuff to enemies, which does not stack.

Exhaust

Exhaust is a defensive and offensive summoner spell for Yuumi and is recommended to be paired with either Ignite or Heal.

ACTIVE: Yuumi weakens the target enemy champion, slowing them and reducing their damage dealt for a few seconds.

Tip:

Exhaust can be used to reduce damage, and slow enemies. Keep this in mind when using it on enemies. Prioritize using Exhaust on enemies with the highest damage in the enemy team composition, to reduce as much damage per second as possible in a fight. Using Exhaust on an enemy for the slow, to help your team can catch up to them is also a great use of the summoner spell.

Why not bring Flash?

Yuumi does not need Flash. She is completely safe as long as she is with her ally or allies, thanks to You and Me! Yuumi has good mobility, especially with the Movement Speed that Zoomies provides. You and Me! blesses Yuumi with safety as long as she is attached to an ally as her current friend. Additionally, Yuumi cannot use Flash while attached using You and Me! This makes it signifigantly worse, even in situations where Flash may be a viable option for other champions. Thats why Flash is neither good or neccessary on Yuumi.

Sorcery

Summon Aery

PASSIVE: Damaging basic attacks, abilities, and item effects against an enemy causes Yuumi to signal Aery to pounce at them, dealing Adaptive Force damage. The damage amount is based off of Yuumi's level + scaling off of attack damage and ability power. Additionally, healing, shielding, or buffing an allied champion signals Aery to leap to their side, shielding them for a few seconds. The shield amount is based off of Yuumi's level + scaling off of attack damage and ability power .

Manaflow Band

Shurelya's Battlesong

Shurelya's Battlesong is a decent item on Yuumi. It provides Yuumi with her core essential stats that she needs. This item provides a lot of bonus Movement Speed with the active, allowing your team to easily engage and disengage.

UNIQUE – INSPIRING SPEECH: Grants Yuumi and all allies within a large area bonus Movement Speed for a few seconds. This also applies to minions.

Ability Power
Ability Haste
Health
Base Mana Regeneration

UNIQUE – COORDINATED FIRE: Abilities that slow or immobilize enemy champions mark them for a few seconds. Allied champions that damage marked enemies consume the mark to deal a percent of the target's current health as bonus magic damage and grant you and the triggering ally bonus Movement Speed for a short duration.

Staff of Flowing Water

Staff of Flowing Water is a great item for Yuumi to help buff allied champions who use ability power. Staff of Flowing Water is a essential item to build if you have mage champions such as Ahri, Malzahar, Ziggs, Xerath, etc.

Ability Power
Ability Haste
Base Mana Regeneration

UNIQUE – RAPIDS: Healing or shielding allied champions grants Yuumi and her Ally both ability power and Movement Speed for a few seconds.

Ardent Censer

Ardent Censer gives Yuumi the ability to buff her allies who use on-hit abilities, and attack speed, and attack damage. Ardent Censer is an essential item to build if you have allied champions like Jinx, Twitch, Vayne, etc. Along with some other champions who also use attack damage or on-hit and attack speed such as Jax, Irelia, Wukong, Master Yi, Gwen, Kayle etc.

Ability Power
Base Mana Regeneration
Heal and Shield Power
Movement Speed

UNIQUE – SANCTIFY: Healing or shielding allied champions enhances Yuumi and her Ally with bonus attack speed and bonus magic damage on-hit for a few seconds.

Mikael's Blessing

Mikael's Blessing allows Yuumi to effectively have a reduced version of Cleanse as an item active. However, the Active on Mikael's Blessing can only be used on a limited amount of crowd control debuffs, less than Cleanse. Generally, this item is good against the majority of crowd control team compositions and enemy champions. What makes Mikael's Blessing great is the fact that it heals an allied champion, additionally to cleansing them.

Ability Haste
Health
Base Mana Regeneration
Heal and Shield Power

UNIQUE – PURIFY: Within a certain radius, remove all crowd control debuffs from a selected allied champion, or Yuumi herself. This excludes Airborne, Blind, Disarm, Grounded, Nearsight, and Suppression. Additionally, healing an amount based on the target allied champion level.

Redemption

Redemption is a great item for Yuumi. It excels in teamfights because the active allows Yuumi to cast a heal in an area of effect radius. Additionally, dealing true damage to all enemies within the area of effect radius, and providing vision.
Redemption's active healing is increased by heal and shield power, which allows it to have great synergy with other heal and shield power items in combination.

Ability Haste
Health
Base Mana Regeneration
Heal and Shield Power

UNIQUE – INTERVENTION: Yuumi calls upon a beam of light to strike upon the target location after a short delay, granting vision of the area of effect radius for the duration. Allied champions within the area are healed based on their Champion level. Additionally, enemy champions hit by the area of effect radius are dealt true damage based off of their maximum health. Redemption active can be used while Yuumi is dead.

Dawncore

Dawncore is a wonderful item for Yuumi. It provides Yuumi with her core essential stats that she needs. Dawncore gains strength as the game goes on and Yuumi gets more items in combination with Dawncore. Because of this, Yuumi is best building Dawncore as one of her last items nearing the end of her item build.

Ability Power
Base Mana Regeneration
HHeal and Shield Power

UNIQUE – FIRST LIGHT: Yuumi gains bonus heal and shield power and ability power for every additional amount of Base Mana Regeneration.

Knight's Vow

Knight's Vow is a great defensive item for Yuumi's build. It reduces the incoming damage from the ally that is bound to the item using the active. Yuumi utilizes Knight's Vow's ability the best out of any other champion in the game, as she has little to no cost for losing health. You and Me! allows Yuumi to stay untargetable and safe, which makes this item's weakness no more. It's essentially free damage reduction for Yuumi's selected allied champion.

Ability Haste
Armor
Health
Base Health Regeneration

UNIQUE – PLEDGE: Yuumi can designate an allied champion as Worthy, forming a tether between herself and them, putting this active on cooldown. Only one allied champion can be selected as Worthy at a time.

UNIQUE – SACRIFICE: While Yuumi's Worthy allied champion is nearby, and she is above a certain health threshold, Yuumi sacrifices her health to prevent her Worthy allied champion from taking a percent of damage that they are dealt. Yuumi takes this damage as True Damage. Additionally, Yuumi heals for a percent of her Worthy allied champion's damage dealt to enemy champions.

Cryptbloom

Cryptbloom is a good item for Yuumi if she plans on going a more damage focused build. Cryptbloom provides healing to Yuumi's team while also giving a lot of ability power and magic penetration.

Ability Power
Ability Haste
Magic Penetration

UNIQUE – LIFE FROM DEATH: When Yuumi gets a takedown on an Enemy Champion within a few seconds of damaging them, she summons a nova of healing from the location of their death. This nova of healing may heal Yuumi and her allied champions who step over it.

Mejai's Soulstealer

Mejai's Soulstealer builds from the Dark Seal item component. I recommend after Yuumi has enough gold to recall, purchasing Dark Seal.
Mejai's Soulstealer is an amazing on Yuumi, thanks to her safe playstyle with You and Me! Yuumi generally has a very small amount of deaths per game, so Yuumi can stack Mejai's Soulstealer and Dark Seal very consistently in most games.

Ability Power
Health

UNIQUE – GLORY: Yuumi gains an amount of stacks for each enemy champion kill, halved for each assist, up to a maximum. Lose stacks on death. Stacks transfer from the Dark Seal item component to Mejai's Soulstealer.

UNIQUE – DREAD: Gain ability power for each stack of Glory and bonus Movement Speed if Yuumi has a certain threshold of stacks.

Rabadon's Deathcap

Rabadon's Deathcap is a good item for Yuumi if she has a lot of gold, and does not need any other situational items. Yuumi utilizes this item's bonus ability power in all of her healing and shielding abilities including Feline Friendship, Zoomies, and Final Chapter.

Ability Power

UNIQUE – MAGICAL OPUS: Increases Yuumi's ability power by a percent of her current ability power, as bonus ability power.

Items
Warding & Support

Basic Support Item

This is the default Support item for every Champion in the Support role. When playing Yuumi, start World Atlas every game along with a Control Ward.

Health
Base Health Regeneration
Base Mana Regeneration
Bonus Gold Periodically

UNIQUE – QUEST: Yuumi gains a Quest charge periodically, up to a cap. Yuumi will continue to gain Charges until a maximum of gold, in which the item turns into the next tier of the Support item. When an allied champion is within a large range of Yuumi, she can consume a Charge in the following ways:
• Kill a minion by any means, including abilities, basic attacks, and any damaging effects. This grants the nearest allied champion Gold as if they had killed the minion, while Yuumi gains a reduced amount of Gold for the minion kill.
• Damage an enemy champion or structure with a basic attack or ability, granting Yuumi Gold.

UNIQUE – WARD: Yuumi consumes a charge to place a Stealth Ward at the target location, which grants sight and vision of the surrounding area in an effect radius. Warding charges refill upon visiting the shop.

Upgraded Support Item

After Yuumi completes two Support item quests, her Runic Compass will transform into Bounty of Worlds, giving Yuumi the ability to choose between multiple upgraded Support items. Yuumi can choose between: Bloodsong, Celestial Opposition, Dream Maker, Solstice Sleigh, and Zaz'Zak's Realmspike.

Health
Base Health Regeneration
Base Mana Regeneration
Bonus Gold Periodically

Dream Maker

Dream Maker is the first and most optimal upgraded Support item that is recommended for Yuumi. It provides Yuumi with the ability to support and buff her allied champions. Dream Maker is the best option to give the best of both worlds with both damage and utility.

UNIQUE – DREAM MAKER: Periodically, Yuumi gains a Blue Dream Bubble and a Purple Dream Bubble. When Yuumi grants a heal or shield to an allied champion, this causes the Blue and Purple Dream Bubbles to be blown to the Ally. Each Bubble has a unique effect.
Blue reduces the next instance of damage that the allied champion takes by an amount scaling with Yuumi's champion level.
Purple grants the allied champion bonus magic damage scaling with Yuumi's Champion level on-hit on their next attack.

Solstice Sleigh

Solstice Sleigh is the second upgraded Support item that is recommended for Yuumi. It provides Yuumi with the ability to give Movement Speed boosts and bonus healing to her allied champions. Solstice Sleigh is a more defensive option, as opposed to Dream Maker, giving less damage and buffing potential. However, it does help to increase Yuumi's healing by a decent amount.

UNIQUE – GOING SLEDDING: Slowing or immobilizing an enemy champion causes Yuumi to 'go sledding' with the most wounded allied champion nearby, giving both Yuumi and the Ally bonus Movement Speed that decays over a few seconds and healing. If Yuumi or the allied champion has over maximum health, this healing may exceed maximum health providing a health bonus for a few seconds.

Zaz'Zak's Realmspike

Zaz'Zak's Realmspike is the third ugraded Support item option for Yuumi. It isn't usually recommended, as it doesn't syngergize with Yuumi's enchanter Support playstyle as well as Dream Maker and Solstice Sleigh. However, Zaz'Zak's Realmspike does provide a lot of bonus damage to Yuumi and allows her to poke enemies more effectively.

UNIQUE – VOID EXPLOSION: Dealing ability damage to an enemy champion summons a explosion at their location after a very short delay, dealing magic damage and a small percent of the enemy champion's maximum health.

Trinket Wards

Trinket wards are vision-related active items that go in the trinket spot of your inventory. Yuumi can use these trinkets to her advantage, to get an edge on the opponent with vision.

Stealth Ward

Stealth Ward is the default ward that most Champions go at the beginning of the game. It can be substituted for Runic Compass and the completed item of your choice, Dream Maker/ Solstice Sleigh. With a low cooldown and multiple ward charges, Yuumi can provide vision consistently with this trinket in the early game. However, I recommend against keeping Stealth Ward after completing Bounty of Worlds. This is because if Yuumi already has maximum Stealth Wards on the map currently, if she places a Runic Compass/ Dream Maker/ Solstice Sleigh ward, it will replace the Stealth Ward that is closest to expiring with your new ward you just placed down.

Oracle Lens

Oracle Lens is the Trinket that I recommend going as soon as Yuumi completes her completed Support item of your choice, Dream Maker/ Solstice Sleigh. Oracle Lens is specifically good when an allied champion that is Yuumi's current friend using You and Me! paths in places that need to be secured by removing enemy vision.
Oracle Lens blinds enemy wards in its path and allows Yuumi to reveal enemy wards, making for quick vision denial.

Farsight Alteration

Farsight Alteration is great for scouting objectives and areas that need quick vision from a distance. It allows Yuumi to safely ward without having to detach from an allied champion using You and Me!, putting Yuumi in danger. Farsight Alteration is generally the most safe option for a Trinket Ward.

How to play Yuumi

How to play Yuumi
Early Game

What should I do during the early laning phase as Yuumi?

The first thing to do is plan out your build for the game, and purchase your first item{s}. Yuumi is a Support Champion, so purchasing World Atlas is the very first priority at the beginning of the game. This allows Support champions to gain gold passively and actively with Support quests. You will have extra gold after purchasing World Atlas, and this gold is great to spend on a Control Ward. Yuumi uses You and Me! so she does not need to buy Health Potions.

Yuumi is relatively weak in strength earlier on in the game. Yuumi scales very well with items and skill levels. Your priority playing Yuumi very early on is to try to help your bottom lane allied champion to farm by using your World Atlas charges whenever available. Yuumi should stay attached whenever World Atlas charges are not available.

Staying attached using You and Me! on your bottom lane allied champion is essential as Yuumi, as she does not have any benefits from being detached on her own. Yuumi is able to avoid any possible crowd control by staying attached using You and Me! making it extremely easy to farm and scale. Staying attached using You and Me! also allows Yuumi to gain Feline Friendship stacks on her bottom lane allied champion.

Generally, Yuumi can bully enemies using Prowling Projectile. Use Prowling Projectile to poke and damage enemy champions whenever World Atlas charges are available. Enough poking with Prowling Projectile and your bottom lane allied champion's attacks, and the enemy champions should be low on health. If you are laning with an aggressive attack damage carry such as Draven, Lucian, Vayne, Tristana, Samira, etc. then they do a lot of damage early game and combined with Yuumi, the damage will be very high.

To prevent running out of Mana, use Prowling Projectile sparingly, and use World Atlas charges on minions occasionally. You can also pick up a Faerie Charm after your recall to help with Mana as well.

After your first recall, it is recommended to purchase a Dark Seal, especially if you are doing well. Yuumi maintains minimal deaths in most games, so she is easily able to stack Dark Seal and Mejai's Soulstealer. If you have earned enough gold, try to purchase multiple item components for Yuumi's items. Faerie Charm, Amplifying Tome, Glowing Mote, and Ruby Crystal just to name a few. Then, you can upgrade these components into bigger components such as Bandleglass Mirror, Kindlegem, Forbidden Idol, etc.

TIP:

It is recommended to learn every Champion, and more importantly, possible lane matchups. If you are ever against a Champion that is unknown to you, then you can look at the League of Legends Wiki and search for a Champion to see their abilities information, such as what they do, and cooldowns. (Make sure that when you search you see the /Lol text next to their name and it will be their abilities page.)

Can Yuumi roam?

Yuumi can roam sometimes, but for the most part no, not by herself. However, Yuumi is great at roaming with her allied champions. Your Jungler gives Yuumi great opportunities to roam. A good example of junglers that synergize well with Yuumi are Kayn, Lee Sin, Kha'Zix, Rengar, Nocturne, and more. (You can check the matchups and synergies section at the top of the guide to see all champion synergies.) After your Jungler ganks Bottom Lane, it is usually a good call to attach to them with You and Me! and look to rotate Middle Lane. Ganking Middle Lane with Yuumi and her jungler can be surprising to the enemy and allow for opportunities for unexpected kills. It should be a free kill as long as your jungler can follow up on Prowling Projectile. After a recall, you can path towards a lane Top or Middle, and see if there is an opportunity for a gank, or even an early objective such as Voidgrub. Rotate back toward Bottom Lane soon after, to ensure your Bot Laner is safe and healthy.

Summary

Overall, Yuumi is a scaling Support that looks to stay safe and farm levels and items in the early game. Keeping your Bottom Lane Champion safe with heals and shields, it should be a relatively smooth laning phase if played correctly.

How to Play Yuumi
Mid & Late Game

How do I transition to the mid/late game as Yuumi?

The first thing you need to do before you can start impacting the map and doing things in the mid & late game as Yuumi, is to find out what your win condition is. With Yuumi, your allies are everything, and protecting and keeping specific allied champions safe is the most important thing to Yuumi. Your win condition will usually be to protect the allied champion with the biggest lead in Gold, experience, and items. Yuumi synergizes with most types of Champions with her versatile enchanter kit. However, Yuumi synergizes the best with Champions that can utilize Yuumi's attack speed buff, along with everything else. If you have multiple allied champions that are ahead, then prioriting the allied champion that utilizes her attack speed buff the best is going to be the most optimal. Be mindful of the enemy team composition, as this can also dictate which ally is the most optimal to prioritize prioritize. For example, if the enemy team composition has assassins such as Zed, Talon, Fizz etc. then, they can more easily shut down champions that are more squishy. If this is the case, maybe it is not as good to be on them because they might die and leave Yuumi vulnerable.

For example, who do you think will be your most optimal carry to protect in this situation? Have a look at the scoreboard.

Ally Team

| Irelia - 2/7/2 - 45 CS
| Hecarim - 7/3/6 - 200 CS
| Malzahar - 3/3/6 - 160 CS
| Jinx - 6/3/4 - 150 CS
| Yuumi - 0/1/9 - 2 CS

Enemy Team

| Tryndamere - 7/4/2 - 190 CS
| Kindred - 3/4/7 - 160 CS
| Yasuo - 3/3/2 - 150 CS
| Xayah - 2/5/0 - 100 CS
| Sona - 0/3/1 - 12 CS

In this scenario, Hecarim is ahead and though he is not super ahead of Kindred, he has a Yuumi which secures that he does not die if played correctly. Also, their team has 4 attack damage Champions, making it very easy for Hecarim to snowball and be very hard to kill if he builds Armor items. Hecarim would be the best and most optimal carry to protect in this game. Jinx is also a good candidate. This is just an example, and this will not be the case every game ofcourse.

Once you've found what champion is your primary win condition, Yuumi needs to be useful for this champion. So try to build items for this champion's kit in particular. Back to the example above, Hecarim and possibly Jinx would be your win condition. Ardent Censer is a great item for Hecarim and also synergizes well with the rest of Yuumi's team with Jinx and Irelia. Both of which are attack damage champions, meaning that they can utilize attack speed from Ardent Censer to get more attacks to do more damage. For example, in a different match, if you were to have a Singed, Ahri, and a Lillia on Yuumi's team, it would be much better to get Staff of Flowing Water instead of Ardent Censer or at least before you get Ardent Censer. It all comes down to drafting and which items and plays are the best.

You should also provide Vision with Wards using your Support item. Warding around areas where your carries are, and Warding with them using You and Me! is a good strategy. Your jungler will be pathing through the jungle during their jungle clear. This gives Yuumi opportunities to Ward while attached to her jungler. Try to prioritize placing vision more spread out, especially if no objectives are available or spawning soon. Playing around vision and your carries is important.

How do I fight for objectives as Yuumi?

Fighting for objectives as Yuumi is mostly like any Support. The first thing you should do is place Wards in surrounding areas and bushes on both sides of the objective. Prioritizing ward placement with Yuumi depends on her allied champions. If detached, not using You and Me! then placing more safe Wards that do not leave Yuumi to vulnerable will be the best decision. If attached using You and Me! then try to path towards bushes and places that you would like to Ward with your allied champion. Pings can help to encourage allies to help Yuumi.

Next, gather your team to help secure the objective. If your team is starting the objective, then prioritize shielding the allied champion that is tanking the Dragon/ Baron Nashor/ Rift Herald/ Voidgrub. Keep an eye on the Wards that you have previously placed down, to catch Enemies with Prowling Projectile.
If you are taking the Dragon or Rift Herald, If you do get sight of an enemy, then the enemy team is likely behind the Dragon/ Rift Herald Pit, then pinging your allies to pull the Dragon/ Rift Herald back so that the enemy Jungler (or whoever would try to steal the objective) can't steal the objective as easily.
This is just basic knowledge, but it is very important for setting up to do objectives.

How should I play temfights as Yuumi?

Teamfighting is very special for Yuumi because she is one of the most unique Champions in the game - There is no champion that has her playstyle. So it will take a bit of time to fully grasp her playstyle and how she is meant to be played, especially when teamfighting. Yuumi in teamfights swaps around allied champions using You and Me! to provide the most optimal allies with buffs, heals, and shields at crucial times. Keeping these effects on your most important allies throughout a teamfight is your ultimate goal when playing Yuumi in teamfights.

Feline Friendship allows for quick healing to your attached allied champion using You and Me!.
Ensure that Feline Friendship is being used optimally by using Prowling Projectile whenever Feline Friendship healing is available. Final Chapter also applies Feline Friendship.

Prowling Projectile allows for crowd control slows and damage during teamfights to help assist your team.
Prowling Projectile can be used to catch enemy champions that are attempting to run away, slowing them to secure kills for Yuumi's team. Using Prowling Projectile to provide consistent damage and slows in teamfights is essential.

Zoomies allows for quick shielding and buffs of attack speed and Movement Speed during teamfights.
Zoomies is a game changer in teamfights, and you should be using it whenever enemy champions cast abilities and attacks on your carries. Zoomies can block a majority of damage in fights and can help to make sure that your carries can truly carry a teamfight by staying alive throughout. Prioritize attaching using You and Me! to whoever is getting attacked to shield damage with this ability whenever necessary. Zoomies also provides allies with other buffs such as Ardent Censer and Staff of Flowing Water. Moonstone Renewer's shield also applies, so you can use Zoomies to shield multiple targets at once with the help of Moonstone Renewer. Keep this in mind, and use Zoomies to give these bonuses.

Final Chapter allows for healing to allied champions and damage and slows to enemy champions.
Yuumi's Ultimate ability, Final Chapter is insane in teamfights, and can be freely rotated and moved while being casted. Using You and Me! while channeling Final Chapter allows Yuumi to reposition herself to different allies, allowing Final Chapter to get better reach in fights to ensure it is hitting as many allied champions and enemy champions at the same time.

Summary

Overall, Yuumi's mid and late game is incredibly strong. Yuumi scales really well into the late game with her items and levels, being able to output insane shielding, healing, and buffs for her team in all fights.
