I've been working on a successful AP Shen page, i'm happy i stumbled upon this.

You realize that you can move items as you wish and there is no practical reason to save an item slot with your health pot. Just click and drag your brand new zhonyas to slot one whenever you feel like it.

(personally i prefer slot 2)

I could see why this got down voted, but this is an excellent build, and not to be easily brushed aside. Shen is naturally tough, and making him tough *and* a hard hitter is an excellent strategy.

Anyone who thinks there is only 1 way to play a character is a fool. This is different and actually quite effective. Well done.

I actually really like this build, it can put out a good amount of damage while also having the resists to make it viable.
What I would suggest is to swap the Abyssal Scepter for a Lich Bane. It means giving up the MR debuff aura and a little MR, but it gives increased move speed and much more damage so even when you run low on energy in sustained fights, you can still be a threat.

I agree you should ask about the buff from golem, but it really helps finish off the CDR if you're at 20 stacks and helps with energy regen from spamming vorpal blade.

I would suggest energy regeneration runes and increased maximum energy runes because spamming vorpal blade alone requires a lot of energy. Max energy gives you longer until you hit zero and makes it so your regen has longer to keep you off of zero energy. Max energy also makes the golem buff even more beneficial.

Just my thoughts, good build, and keep ignoring the haters lol. :)

Well, Its a good I idea, because one of the tricks I constantly use, is shadow dash to get in vorpal range. Some times you end up meleeing. I personally dont like it, because the mana is wasted. Its a good Idea. Just a personal preference of mine. Right now, all the items in the build give you ap and armor or mag resist. Which help you out alot. But all stats are usable. I want to make it clear that im not bashing you. This is just something im not to into. Seeing as how I made a mage shen build, Im pretty open minded though.

This guide works as intended, and gives some helpful insights. I managed to get a game that went past the 50 minute mark because both teams were doing quite well. With baron buff shen was sporting 832 ap and was 2 shotting squishies. His ultimate shield was shielding for nearly 2000 hp, while his feints were in the 5-600.

I have been considering trying lichbane with this build if you end up getting in melee range constantly, any thoughts?

Obviously sigma you are a noob for not being able to read the damn guide. Seriously who the hell goes into an ap guide on a champion and then flames about it being ap? This build works, and does exactly what the build author intended. You don't flame a guide because it has an alternative way to play a champion you are not used to.

Well playing Shen as a mage is the dumbest idea I have ever heard. Shen is a TANK, everyone plays him as a TANK, and people will hate you if you don't play him as a TANK. Shen could never do more dmg than a dps champ regardless of his build, so why ever build his dps? If you play Shen, then you play TANK. Your obviously are a noob, so don't be posting useless builds...

Did you notice when you read the build that it said this shen was a Mage? I also made mention that you dont play this Shen like a regular tank Shen. THEN I told you to tell your team mates that you werent a tank. With that being said, you downvoted my guide without following my instructions.

This build won't work...in 5v5 matches especially you are goin to be a ***** tank. This build would never work in a 5v5 match due to your lack of armor/magic resist and HP. You will get ripped apart with this build, BUT in 3v3 matches it "could" work. Due to the lack of your taunt, you will still be a pathetic tank, considering Shen's taunt is his most important skill as a tank. DOWNVOTE
