NOTE- I left the 6th slot open because no game is the same. You may want to grab a randuin's, a sunfire cape, a thornmail or something else. Only consider the build up to the negatron cloak "core."

I'm not pretending to be the definitive knowledge of Leona, but for god's sake stop doing three things, people.

- Stop maxing Q early. All it'll do is drain your mana faster, have a slightly lower cooldown (which you don't need in early game) and do slightly more damage. W's mana cost won't grow, its damage will increase (helping with farming) and you'll end up with +70 MR and armour by level 9.

- Stop building her pure AP. Magic pen marks and AP per level runes are all you need on leona to keep her damage constant through the game, especially if you grab an abyssal at some point (which may be before the FoN, if you have several AP champs on your team). And if you don't want to build AP at all, take some cooldown glyphs instead

- Stop taking flash on her. Tanks will only ever need flash to initiate or to catch a fleeing enemy. Leona can do both with her E ability. Taking an upgraded fortify helps the entire team and you won't be hurting for the loss of flash.


Leona is a true tank, perhaps the purest of them all. Her low cooldowns mean she can stun an enemy every few seconds, with W making her practically unkillable for 6 seconds, with only 3 seconds of vulnerability between casts. However, she can't do any damage on her own. She requires a competent team, which you may struggle to find in this game. Consider her the tank equivalent of a support: she amplifies the effectiveness of your team, but 0 x 5 is still 0.

If you want a laning Amumu with more Character Control per Second, stick with Leona. if you want a bleeding AP "tank," get gragas, cho'gath or singed.
