Jarvan is a really good bruiser. He should therefore either solo top, or can jungle. In this guide I will be showing you how to successfully solo top jarvan, against any opponent. The build of course varies on enemy team comp, but this is a general outline for the champ. Note that he is built as an off tank as well, not a full tank.

Start off with your Regrowth pendant and a health pot. You will always want to start like this as your philo stone is your first item you want. After which you wanna get your heart of gold. This builds you up for a late game, getting those GP/5's.

As Jarvan, at this point in the game, you should be able to buy a B.F. sword. This will enhance you attack by a considerable amount.

After which you will have two paths to take. If you feel you are doing well and have a few kills/assists. Buy an Infinity edge next. If you are taking loads of hits and/or dying a fair amount of times or if you're just losing your lane in general, rush a black clever and come back to infinity edge afterwards.

Whichever path you choose to take with those two items, you should get them together, one after another.

After this, you should buy a warmogs. This will greatly increase your survivability and you will undoubtedly be able to dominate any lane that needs pushing or that is being pushed.

After warmogs, Atma's impaler is a ridiculously good item to use as your health should be ranging in the 3000's somewhere.

As for the last item, that is pretty much based on whatever the enemy team comp is.

Few notes for last item:
- May want to build a Banshee's Veil if dealing with a Karthas/Anivia or any other champion with annoying stuns/slows/damage
- If you want to complete your zeal into a phantom dancer you will get your bonus attack speed and critical chance.
- Thornmail is a really good idea if the enemy team is very AD heavy.
- Guardian Angel is a really useful item for Jarvan as well. If the enemy team is killing you off but not following up with any damage (basically burst damage), a guardian angel is really good.
