Hello, this is my first ever build, so don't judge the quality of the build. Tips and tops are always welcome. And i really recommend you try this build before commenting on this page. I know i will miss a lot of things, considering it's my first build ever.

This guide will not guarentee any wins. I just find this guide great to play with. For me this works and i would just like to share it with you. With this guide you will be able to do lots of dmg, and still have a lot of survivability without really building it.

Rod of Ages: This item is my first and an important item. It doesn't only give me health and mana, but also regeneration at levelup. So i will be able to stay in lane much longer.
Hextech Gunblade: With this my ulti gives me even more spelvamp. It gives me overall more sustainability in teamfights and makes me much more usefull.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter: With this item my ultimate also slows the enemy, wich allows me to keep hitting him with my ulti when he tries to get away.
Rabadon's Deathcap: This item gives me lots of ap, wich gives me more dmg output and eventually also more spellvamp because my attacks to more dmg. I would recommend you get this items, but you can also get Archangels Staff in stead.
Zhonya's Hourglass: This item is really great on Swain. You can get this even before the Rabadon's. Not only does this item give Swain armor and ap, it's active is also great. When Swain is running low on health he can pop this active while his ulti is active and he will be full health when the active ends.

Why should you pick this runes? Well there is no guarentee that these are the best runes. I just love the sustainability it gives and the extra ability power and magic pen you get from it.

With these masteries you get the extra damage output you need. You also get extra starting health wich really helps you early game. Together with doran's ring you have a lot of survivability on level 1.

This is what makes or breaks a Swain. You always have to do your Torment first. So all your other attacks do extra dmg. It is very important that you land your Nevermove. Because of this your Decrepify hits the target for extra dmg/second. Also your ulti does a lot more dmg if you hit your ground.

On level 3 your able to get first blood. From level 6 you really have to go for the kill.

Till this day i haven't got any counterpicks against me. I never loose bigtime and if i loose it's mostly because of feeding teammates or really well prepared ganks when I'm at the wrong spot.

Most ap mid champions are countered by Swain. Because of his low cd's and his great dmg output he is just a great mid champion.
