This is my first guide I've made but this build works out very well on Taric for me.

The reason I go Defensive on my masteries and AP on my runes is because taric can tend to be squishy when build all out AP, but doesn't do much damage when build straight out tank. By using tank masteries and AP runes, he tends to do a bit more damage, but still have survivability.

I start of with my stun first so that we can get damage in early before minions come into lane and maybe even get first blood (Taric/Leona lane with first blood... kinda funny :P). I take my heal second even though shatter is the ability i max out first because it's sometimes needed for sustain in lane. If you find you don't need it at lv. 2, feel free to take shatter.

Even though they nerfed flash, it's still a great spell for getting in and out of combat. Same thing with CV, it was nerfed but it's essential in getting first blood sometimes. I tend to use it once I get to the first bushes to choose a target to stun and then walk in. It gives you free hits on them while they couldn't hit you back.
