Yeah, id like that too but still its not a guide, its a cool story. When you will face different team you will need different items to gank and play good. And you dont descibe any specific gameplay hints in the "guide" so its only a cool story bro. Nevertheless ill consider those items early thanks to you while playing yi. :)

I like your build in general, it is true that Yi does need some survivability early game to be truly a threat lategame. I did a game with this build I got Catalyst of Protector instead or Hextech Reveolver. I think I had a 4/0/2 by early-mid game, but then late game my team fed and I ended up with a 7/4/8 something and we lost. +1 for sharing this nice build with me.
Some ppl have been making dumb comments about your build, don't take them seriously they don't know what they are talking about.

Read the guide b4 you talk he just posted the unique items about this build he says later that you build like any AD carry situationally after those items... god..
