League of Draven (PASSIVE)
Draven Passive Ability
Introduction
In the first build, I have found that these runes give you and advantage throughout the entire game. The runes used in the first build are pretty much standard for almost all AD carries, and should be purchased due to their extreme effectiveness all game long. In the second build, I chose CC runes and Crit damage runes for a few reasons, PLEASE READ BEFORE HATING. Draven's passive is basically a bleed. The bleed activates when you hit an enemy with Spinning Blade OR with a critical strike. So, the more crit chance you have, the more often you will utilize Dravens passive. I dont have enough IP for all the runes I want, but I feel like this is a very solid rune set up. The extra crit chance and crit damage will help Draven not only in the early phases of the game, but the late as well. You may also want to try using Arm Pen Reds, Armor Yellows, Attack Speed Blues, and AD Quints. This is also a very strong rune set up.
For Masteries I take 24/6/0 and 24/3/3. Draven is a great harass champion and I feel like the more damage he can do through masteries, the better. As you can see, I put a lot of points in the offensive tree, and I do not recommend changing these masteries as they will increase Draven's damage output. I put 6 points in the Defensive tree for a little bit of extra resistance. Every little bit counts right? In the second build, I took the points in the defnesive tree and put them in Utility Tree. I put them here because I personally hate staring at the screen for so long waiting to respawn. You may put these put wherever you like if you do not want them here.
in Build 1, I take Flash and Ignite This is a great combo when you have harassed a champion to near death. You can use Flash + Ignite to finish the enemy off, or use Flash to escape. I take Cleanse and Ghost in Build 2 for a few reasons. Draven runs very slow to be honost. Even if you use his W it does not last very long. Cleanse is incase you get Exhausted or need to get out of a sticky situation. Therefore, Cleanse+Ghost=Very good escape mechanism. You can also use Cleanse against other champions who Ultimate you and weaken Draven. Other Summoner Spells you may want to choose from are Flash, Ignite, and Exhaust. Heal is also very good if you are bot and your support does not have a healing ability themself. I highly recommend taking Heal if you are in this situation. A combination of any of the 6 Summoner Spells above is going to be viable, it all comes down to personal preference, and picking according to your support.
When I got the Pentakill as shown below, I was laning with my brother (In real life) who was playing my brother in game. (Darius) What a coincidence right? There are champions that you will want to lane with, and some you will not. The most hepful champions are the ones with some kind of hard CC. Stuns, taunts, fears, roots, slows, pulls, knockups, and pretty much all other forms of CC are your best friend when playing Draven. If you can get a champion who has a form of CC then you are bound to get some kills. If it is a champion like Alistar, who has CC and the ability to heal, I would not recommend taking Heal as Alistar will fulfill that role. If you are laning with Blitzcrank, who has the ability to pull and knockup, but not heal, I would recommend taking Heal. It is up to you and your support to figure out what Summoner Spells will benefit both of you the most.
I got the Pentakill with the build on this page and later racked up 23k gold and was trying different items out on the enemy team due to them getting stronger through out the game, that is why I have different items in the picture. My scores with this build have been great. In order, they are 13/5/14, 31/10/15, in the Wukong game I finished 23/0, and then back with Draven I went 7/0/4, and 13/3/1.
Here is another photo showing that the Pentakill build on this page does work. My lane partner was Rammus and as you can see we got a lot of kills due to him taunting enemy champions. Please comment and rate/upvote. Thanks everyone!
When farming minions with Spinning Blade it helps when you press the S key after Draven throws the axe. It will keep him from throwing another axe, making it easier to focus on catching his blade. Use this method to farm minions and harass champions. You can also hit enemy champions under their tower. Remember, when you throw Spinning Blade it is returned in the direction you are running. This means that while they are standing under their tower, you can hit one of them with Spinning Blade and if you turn around quick enough and run the blade will land infront of you. (Away from their tower) Use this at your own risk, and don't get to close otherwise you may be CC'd and killed by the tower. Goodluck, and go own!
