I changed some things, like runes, masteries and when i bought items.
Red: 9 Armorpen
Yellow: 6 Armor, 3 Attackspeed
Yellow: 6 Magicres/Lvl, 3 Attackspeed
Quints: 1 Attackspeed, 2 Armorpen
Mastery: 9/0/21 with smite, xp.. Typical jungle.
Items:
I started with Cloth Armor and Healthpots, as usual.
I got Lantern and Mercury Threads asap, and then i got Phage and Chain armor for Atma's.
Before i bought Atma's i finished the Frozen Mallet, and then i bought Atma's, giving me nice amount of damage.
After that, i just went to Banshee's. After that they surrender.
I think i would have get a Trinity Force or something like that after.
8/3/11, first game trying this. And it was Ranked btw.
I highly recommend this if you want a really good Nocturne, and also funny.
Thanks for taking the time to explain this, most people wouldn't ^_^
And the point of this isn't to make you a TANK per se. You're still not going to want to be bearing the grunt of the fights, however you DO want to be able to stay IN THE FIGHT long enough to do some REAL damage. Most Noc builds completely ignore defense items, making him an assassin made to take people down very fast. This makes him almost useless late game where one Annie stun or Malz ult will take you out. This build gives him a LOT of attack power as well as lasting power in team fights.
It's not tanky if you compare to Renekton or Jax, but it is A LOT more tanky than anyone would assume Nocturne would be. For this reason, I often get in 1 on 1s with Warwicks and Udyrs who assume "Hey it's just Nocturne, let me clean him up real quick then move on." Then they die and commence FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU-ing in all chat about how I'm so powerful. As ALL Noc builds should, it relies a lot on the element of surprise.
As far as more tanky items, I've experimented a LOT with this concept of what is most cost effective. Looking at items, I've tried to find some other item that adds some good tankiness to Noc without taking away from his ORIGINAL purpose: damage. I think the arrangement I have here is truly the best that I've ever had as far as killing AND lasting. I have tried a few other things including a Randuins before the Atma's then not getting the late Cleaver, instead changing the Wriggle's for a Thirster late. This build made him too ignorable in team fights for me. Another thing I tried was adding in a Warmogs before the Frozen Mallet. While the boost did help my Atma's, late game I became pretty useless in team fights other than soaking up damage.
Also, this isn't really even tanky, let alone enough for an Atma's to really be worth it. The extra little HP from the Frozen Mallet and the Banshee's CERTAINLY does not make you a tank. You can still get killed quickly, since you don't have much armor or MRes to scale with the HP.
I'm sorry, this is a good base idea, but I am not seeing the soul purpose of the build being enacted in the actual build at all. Maybe you could consider working in a few more tanky items?
This gets my upvote for now, on the basis that you will read my comment and change some things. I do like the idea of it, so I gave you the vote.
I will be checking back, however :)
