Champion Build Guide
What is a metagolem?
A metagolem is a build that is the only viable build on the majority of champions. This build is not a true metagolem, as there are currently builds that are just as powerful, or more powerful. The first metagolem was
Atma's Impaler +
Warmog's Armor +
Frozen Mallet +
Trinity Force + mercury treads. With
Atma's Impaler no longer in the game, this Metagolem is dead. Metagolems are seen as unhealthy for the game, so this is not meant to be another metagolem. This build is just a bit of messing around. If this Turns into an actual metagolem then it would be very ironic.

Why did Metagolems exist?
Metagolems existed because the combination of items that made them up outmatched any other build in the meta at the time. The backbone of the original metagolem,
Atma's Impaler happened to build from a gold, generating item
Avarice Blade. The item gave you AD based on you maximum health. With Warmogs armor giving you a large amount of HP, the item gave you a large amount of Damage, even if you built mostly Tank.
Frozen Mallet gave you more HP and a slow on your Auto attacks.
Trinity Force multiplied you damage with its passives, mercury treads lowered the Time that you were CC'd, so that you could continue to dish out damage.
Atma's Impaler gave critical strike chance on top of AD and the passive, which meant that top lane trades were often decided by lucky crits, as EVERYBODY built this item. Tanks suddenly were doing massive damage by exploiting this item, as their large HP pools allowed them to gain more AD than anyone else. Metagolems have resurfaced since their initial defeat with the removal of
Atma's Impaler, usually with new items that have to be nerfed quickly to prevent the Metagolem from becoming the standard build for every top laner.
