Story
Yorick emerged on the haunted shores of the Shadow Isles - not quite dead, definitely not alive - still clutching his beloved shovel. He soon learned that with it he could act as a ferryman for the Isles' undead denizens, helping them climb death's many-tiered ladder. This proved a curse, as a gravedigger must ''bury his quota'' before he too can ascend, or so the legend goes. No one knows what ''his quota'' is. Yorick dug tirelessly, waiting in vain for the day when he would be freed of his burden. As decades turned to centuries, the shame of his failures came to a head. He returned to Valoran to find his corpse, convinced that salvation might be buried with it. When he arrived, no trace remained of either the mausoleum or the memorial. Hope nearly lost, he discovered the League of Legends, and there saw an opportunity to immortalize the family name he allowed to be forgotten ages ago.
''Die first, then we'll talk.''
-Yorick
Yorick had just come out and after reading about him, I bought him straight away. Although Riot has listed him as an 'easy' champion, I do believe he has a big learning curve to be played correctly. This guide will show you how to play Yorick with the most efficiency to your team and yourself. Without further ado, lets get right to the guide!
Pros
-Has great pushing capibilities
-Very powerful after Trinity Force
-Can take on pretty good damage
-Ultimate makes Yorick even a better pusher and a great help to team fights
-Built in lifesteal
-Has a shovel
Cons
-Item dependant
-Rough early game
-Can't think of anymore, he's that good :D

Tank mastery is 9-21-0, taking 9 points into the 15% magic penetration. Yorick's Omen of Prestilence and Famine both are magic damage that scale off of AD. I wouldn't recommend this Mastery Tree, but if you don't have a full rune book, or just feeling like being a pro tank, I guess you can take this route.
If you've played with a Yorick, I'm guessing you see many of them level up their Q at level 1. Well I am here to tell you that THAT IS NOT THE WAY TO GO! First of all, your Q only gives you an additional 30 damage at level 1 with about a 10 second cooldown. You need to be up close and personal to the person your fighting which most of the time, won't happen at level 1. This does not do sufficient amount of damage without Sheen or Trinity Force, which is the main reason you should not take it at level 1.
The reasoning for maxing out your Q last? Well, at the early stages of the game, you will not have Trinity Force, which is the item that you need to deal massive amounts of damage from your Q. Your better off with having longer ranged attacks for harrasment during the laning phase. By maxing your Q first, the enemy knows you are vulnurable and can attack you from far. They will not even think of you as a threat.

For spells I take Flash and Ignited. These are easily exchangable for other spells.
What spells you can take
Ghost: Prefer ghost over flash? well take it instead
Ignite: I can't stand having enemies walk away with less than 50 health. Ignite solves those problems.
Teleport: Since Yorick is a great pusher, teleport is also a great spell for him. You should switch this with exhaust though, since Yorick lacks escaping abilities.
What spells not to take
Clarity: Although Yorick has mana problems early on, you will not need this. Once you require your Manamune, you will not have any mana problems.
Smite: This isn't a jungling build. Yorick can jungle, but is bad at it compared to other champions.
Fortify: Leave this for the real tank.
Heal: You already have an ability for lifesteal, you don't need this.
Clairvoyance: This spell fits perfectly into the support role, leave it for your support.
Revive: lol
Rally: Rally is just bad now...I guess you can use it to help you push more, but in my opinion, that's really not worth it.

Have you learned an interesting thing about Yorick and willing to share it with us? Well post below so I can add it in this section!
1. Denying Rammus
Is Rammus using his Powerball to catch up to you for the kill? Well don't even worry about that anymore! Use your W on an area that rammus WILL go to. He will crash into your ghoul, stopping the animation from his Powerball, giving you a quick get away.
