Has anyone else tried running Clairvoyance on Xerath?

Since his R can be fired well outside his range of vision [even if you take and upgrade the scrying orb trinket], I've found that it's great for picking out people that have run away or escaped into the jungle without having to commit to casting your ultimate to get vision.

So long as you're even or winning the mid game, it makes assassinations much easier.

Usually what i do now is change out my warding trinket for a scrying one.. idk though.

Personally I think this build is good, my only problem is that you don't start stun, which is incredibly useful, especially helping your jungler come in for an early gank, but I can see where you're coming from.

Actually i get it at lvl 3 (the average level you jungler will gank you) it's just that, i don't know why, the guide wasn't appearing in the full build list when i selected my stun as third spell, but i will try to solve this now

I agree with Vynertje about the runes. After the Calice he doesn't need mana regen, since he can almost clear a wave with Q+W and still regain half of the mana used hitting a minion.

Otherwise, your guide is good, I upvoted since I use a similar build XD
I don't think that Rylai is a good pick on him, since his W can slow for 2.5 sec, even if enemies are not in the middle, and it has a fair good range. I understand that rylai slow on arcanopulse can be good in teamfight, but I'm not totally sure about this pick. I prefer a Void staff, over a Rylai, or a Morellonomicon (to spam your Q every 3 sec). Xerath should stay away from the fight, since if they can reach you you are dead (even with the extra healt of the Rylai).

Just a tip: you can use Xerath's R to revert an enemy all-in: you stun them, Q, W (or W, Q it depends on your skill and speed) and finish them with all the three shots of R. He is quite quick while shooting, so you can tri-r them in almost 2 seconds. It works fine with a ranged champ (due to the longer stun) but works even better with melee mid champs (like Katarina), since when in melee range it's easier to hit with your Q!

You are right
I fixed the runes, i knew i had them kinda wrong but wasn't sure about which ones to get (thank you Vynertje)
I will add the tri-R tip, i use it but not as much as i use my R as a finisher.
About the items: Rylai's gives some health just in case you are the last man standing (helped me to get a triple when i was alone) but mainly its slow procs on arcanopulse, which in teamfight allows for an easier shocking orb and death of enemy carry (i've done this many times)
About the morellomicon, i don't like to get it because you will always have your blue buff available (if playing with a good jungler which leaves it to you) giving you already the max amount of CD, so morellomicon's CD wouldn't work

What i still have to test out more is if whether get Lyandri's as last item, or Void staff
THanks for your advices :)

I would only build Rod of ages if i wanted to be tankier (i'd use it instead of Rylai's)
In the matches i've played with the reworked Xerath i have never ran out of mana, because it has many sources
- passive
- unholy grail
- blue buff
- potions in early game
I'm not a big fan of Archangel's, and i don't think it would be necessarily

Hope this answered your questions :D
You should try this build with Bots or in Normal, and check by yourself that you wont run out of mana, as long as you keep using the passive and not spammimg more than what you need (at early game, try to farm with basic hits)

Yeah thanks thats pretty good advice, I'll keep going with him. :)
