Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hello I am MikeGnomes and a new fan to League of Legends. This guide is for a fun style to play with when doing Dominion games. Well this work in a ranked game of Dominion if they come out with it? I am not sure. I just know this build is fun and is based on area-of-effect damage (AOE) and Attack Speed. Yes I said AOE. Watch those minion waves drop in a second and watch in pleasure as you come full speed at a Champion armed with AOE damage.
I did not add any images to this build, you play this game, you know what I am talking about.
The idea is to do tons of AOE damage with Tiamat, Iconic Spark, Sunfire Cape, and the occasional Odyn's Veil release. Phoenix stance will be the way you want to go. Use turtle and bear to get yourself in the middle of things and just start unleashing your Phoenix Stance using the Tiger stance attack speed boost.. Phoenix and your items will do the rest of the work. Don't forget about Storm Shield, just another piece of ammo in your arsenal.
Runes you need to pick are:
1. Attack Speed - get those procs off of your basic attacks.
2. Magic Resist - keep away pesty mages and AP hoarders.
3. Dodge - procs with your Monkey Stance.
4. Cooldown - who doesn't love a good cd?
So what Masteries should I take?
We are going defensive. Yes I know, defense in Dominion. Think about that dodge you auto proc with Udyr, the idea is to stay alive and have your Phoenix Stance, Tiamat, Iconic Spark, and Sunfire Cape just wailing out the damage.
The Items are self explanatory but I will give a brief description for each one.
Mercury's Treads - Cannot be rooted in place, gotta be on the move.
+25 Magic Resist UNIQUE Passive: Enhanced Movement 2 (does not stack with other Boots) UNIQUE Passive: +35 Tenacity (Tenacity reduces the duration of stuns, slows, taunts, fears, silences, blinds and immobilizes. Does not stack with other Tenacity items.)
Warmog's Armor - health bonus is going to keep you alive
+920 Health +30 Health Regen per 5 seconds Passive: Minion kills permanently grant 4.5 Health and .15 Health Regen per 5 seconds. Champion kills and assists permanently grant 45 Health and 1.5 Health Regen per 5 seconds. Bonuses cap at +450 Health and +15 Health Regen per 5 seconds.
Ionic Spark - just watch how fast your Spark will proc.
+45% Attack Speed +250 Health UNIQUE Passive: Every fourth basic attack unleashes a chain lightning, dealing 100 magic damage to up to 4 target
Tiamat - health regeneration, yea!
+50 Attack Damage +15 Health Regen per 5 seconds +5 Mana Regen per 5 seconds Passive: Your basic attacks splash, dealing 50% area damage around the target (35% for ranged attacks).
Sunfire Cape - more AOE, stack it if you are crazy.....
+450 Health +45 Armor UNIQUE Passive: Deals 35 magic damage per second to nearby enemies.
Odyn's Veil - more health and more AOE. (Can be replaced with another Sunfire Cape)
+350 Health +350 Mana +50 Magic Resist UNIQUE Passive: Reduces and stores 10% of the magic damage dealt to your champion. UNIQUE Active: Deals 200 + (stored magic) [max: 400] magic damage to nearby enemy units (90 second cooldown).
Overall, I think you would have a lot of fun with this build while making you a vital member of the team. Using Turtle stance and Bear stance at the right moment may take time for you to learn with this build but remember. Stay alive and spam the R button as much as you can. Please leave a comment if you try this build, I would really like to know how it works out for you. Also let me know if you think it is fun playing with this style and items with Udyr.
Also I know this build may not work to its fullest without a Rune page devoted to it, but I guarantee you will have fun with this build regardless.
