Introduction
The world is not always as civilized as people might think. There are still those who would follow the blackest paths of magic and become corrupted by the darker powers that flow through Runeterra. Shauna Vayne knows this fact well. As a young privileged girl in the heart of Demacia's elite, her father tried to convince her of the constabulary's ever-vigilant eye. Young and naïve, she truly believed that her world was one of perfect safety, until one night, when a twisted witch took interest in her father. The malevolent woman overcame her father's conciliar guard, then tortured her family before murdering them. The young Shauna escaped only by hiding herself and then fleeing once the hag had departed, plagued by the screams of her loved ones as she ran. A burning hatred was born in her that day, one that could never be denied.
Vayne was able to take care of herself using her father's money, and she began to train as soon as an instructor would have her as a student. By the time she was a fully grown woman, she had become a grim warrior. However, the fields of battle were not to be her home. Demacia needed a protector, one who hunted those lost to the darkness. Shauna used her family's contacts to become the first Night Hunter, and now her prowess is the stuff of legends. It is said that those who practice the black arts quake when they hear that the Night Hunter is on the prowl. Despite her crusade, Shauna has looked at the League of Legends in horror. There are champions who have clearly lost themselves to the blackest of magics, and who have been embraced within the League even though they should be put down for the safety of all. The time has come for the Night Hunter to execute her secret mission – to purge the League of Legends.
Not all shadows are to be feared. At least, if Vayne has her way.

So my runes are pretty cookie cutter. To better elaborate on my choices of these runes over others are:
Red - I chose Desolation, simply put - you need it to be good.
Yellow - I chose attack speed over health because you start off with a Doran's Blade and in a few minutes after the game starts, you would already have two! I see no reason in getting more health if you play smart.
Blue - This is basically the filler zone where you can use whatever runes you want. I use flat CDR because it's just too amazing to pass up at early level.

Optimal Summoner Spells
I take flash over any other mobility spell on any champion. This is overall one of the best mobility spells in the game. It allows you to jump over obstacles, sneak into gank, or just use it to flash in front of someone so you can use your Condemn and get a easy kill.
I chose ignite over exhaust because I'd rather have the extra damage over the slow/blind. I hardly end up having to chase after someone unless it was a tank.

Okay so this is basically the only part of the guide I want to put heavy emphasis on. To play Vayne, you need to be able to think quick. I'm mainly mid so I will talk about how to play middle as Vayne.
When playing Vayne you need to ask yourself these two questions when laning mid:
- This ability has to be carefully planned out on how it will be used. With a somewhat long cooldown you need to make it count. I took Flash specifically so I can ensure myself a stun with this ability if situations are tricky. You can use this skill to knock enemies away from you or your teammates while they're chasing you down. You can use this skill to stun someone and easily gain a kill. Or you can use it to knock enemy champions away from their defensive lines and go for the kill.
- This skill is one of the first abilities I pop when going into a fight because it's just a awesome steroid for Vayne. Free damage, movement speed, and a stealth for escaping? I think yes.

-
Am I laning against someone that is playing a tank or squishy?
Are they playing aggressive?

So in the end Vayne is a really good Lane Pusher with her end attack speed after Bloodrazer, she has amazing burst and can chase down enemy champions, she can be very tanky by end game and can easily solo more than one champion at a time if played right. Vayne is my current favorite champion and love her because you hardly have to depend on your team to ensure victory.
