The great thing is with veigar is his AP stacking spell, that makes it so that he can go more a functionality way then other mage champs, without losing damage.

And thanks to dorans, the masterie Archmagi sawy and some good farming, Tear of the godess almost not slow down his ap rising, as it is a necessay item.
If u dont feel like u are over the top needing RoA and suffice with archangel staff Mana, Rylais is good substitute, as your Baleful strike gets a bit more offensive and defensive item. Ive tried it, and with some good Mana conserving in the beginning, farming most then harass, (and is lucky to have someone with clarity on lane) is is the better option to go. Arch doens´t get as powerful, but an extra slow is always good.

Ive have chosen Flash and Ghost as summoner spells, because they are great spells on Veigar. Most people get clarity as he is really mana hungry, but if u are playing smart, Ghost and Flash should be picked.


BUILD 1 For serious, Veigar usually dont have to be more serious of the build then this.
He is a long range mage, that should just specialize on nuking and never get caught.
With ghost, Flash and Runeprison, and good playing, this is all that is needed.
A lot of AP. and quite quick. Archangel are not over the top expensive, under 3000 line,
and they get more AP quicker then other items.

But then again, sometime it is better with utility.

BUILD 2 This IS the better build of them, as with these items (and with rylais instead of RoA) he can almost face any challenge. Except the obvious Active on DG, the CD is quite handy to have, and all those that thinks " damn, veigar is getting strong", Void staff will save u the day. The only thing he lacks is that if he is getting focused and doesnt have his flash/ghost/runeprison (or Rylai slow) he is squishy. No Armour, no MR, No spellvamp. Just some Health. An Overfed Karthus Ulti are going hurt also. as will other global wise spells that hard to avoid.
If u feel like u need extra protection, skip one of the last items and get Zhonyas. It cd will save u against Karth ulti everytime if havent used it.

I havent personally used Lichbane on him, but I think it can be quite good.
And OFC, mejais is almost always viable.

BUILD 3 I havent tried it, But can have some potential. Let me Know if u Try it, or have already tried it. Most people doesnt like to get to close with veigar auto attack, but can maybe work late. Though he usually spams all his spells at once, but maybe u can implement it as one more of the skill chain.
