This is not a beefy Vlad guide, so I don't really understand why you advertise it that way. Vlad's early game should be as passive as possible, so there really isn't any need to harass with Transfuse (There's little you're actually going to be able to do to prevent their farm, and you'll only end up taking more back by getting too close), so use Transfuse for farm. Your skill ordering is wrong; you level Sanguine Pool after Transfusion for the reduced Cooldown. I feel the Laning Phases section lacks enough detail to paint a encompassing picture of how Vlad is played. Sanguine Pool is actually an incredible source of damage, if used right. I guess this guide is geared toward solo mid, but I would expect it, with a name like "Vladimir - Beefy AP Carry" to also consider Vlad solo top, and nothing is mentioned about how to play Vlad top. I gave a no vote, sorry.

I use my auto attacks and trans to last hit o.o
My point is that if you play passively until level 9 or your ult you will probably have more farm and stay in lane longer. If you are constantly harassing you will end up with less farm, and you will have to b more often because you get harassed harder and your trans doesn't "heal for that much". So your option will either have you in a win-lose situation. While farming and staying back will have you in a win-win situation.

Last hitting with Transfusion should only be done if you can't hit your enemy with it. >_> You're a moron if you don't capitalize on the 110~ damage at level 1. Last hit with E and auto attacks.

I actually tried both for a while.

Your cooldown early game on Transfusion is pretty long. It's only good for last hitting in mid and late game, which is why you should just last hit with your basic attack and keep your opponent back with Transfusion. If you don't harass with Transfusion, chances are you're only going to win your lane if your opponent doesn't harass either. Basically using Transfusion early game for cs handicaps you since you're spending a lot of points in it as soon as you can, only to use it on cs which could have been gotten with basic attacks. You can however heal up with it when your opponent is mia, but it's not like Transfusion heals much anyway. It only heals a decent amount with the Hextech Revolver.

Try it out yourself. you just have to spend some time getting used to Vlad's basic attack animation.

Vlad's passive is what makes him beefy. It lets you build a pure ap nuker if you wanted, you just have to be careful about MBR and DFG. Also, this isn't about just the build. I went in-depth about playstyle which is mainly what I wrote this for. Reread the part about early mid and late game.

i know what vlads passive is. i'm asking what makes this beefier than other vlad guides out there. i really enjoyed the playstyles and i couldnt agree with you more. I just have a little thing about not last hitting with your transfusion. Your transfusion is a great last hitting device and it heals you. You dont necessarily have to harass right away with vlad because in order to get close enough to trans, you will get harassed for more damage.
