Choose Champion Build:

  • LoL Champion: Yorick
  • LoL Champion: Yorick
  • LoL Champion: Yorick

Intro

This guide was made in hopes of giving some yorick players an idea of how to play him really well. It is intended more for Summoner's Rift than Dominion but elements of it can make the crossover.

The build focuses primarily on adding utility to yorick and making him a ridiculous poker and finisher. He can engage quickly and safely, fight it out with lots of health regen, and make the kill.

One thing to keep in mind is that this build is AMAZING with the golem buff. Try to constantly have it on you. Start farming it around 10 or whenever you have Shurelya's Resolve.

Runes

Simple. Armor pen for early game and regular pain.
Health for... health.
Cooldowns for as much ghoul spam as possible. Yorick's ghouls make him a winner.

Masteries

You're going for armor pen and utility here. Being able to hit hard and make your way all over the place without much fear of slows or running out of mana is pretty wonderful.

Items

The list might be daunting but believe me when I say it plays out really simply.

Start with regrowth pendant and a potion. Fight it out in your lane for as long as you can and start building elements of Shurelya's and Merc treads.

Once you've got those start working on a zeal, and after zeal comes Warden's Mail.

After the mail comes Phage, and then either Madred's Razors or finishing out Trinity Force

Madred's razor makes killing golem that much faster and having a good start on your Bloodrazor doesn't hurt any. It's your call.

Most builds finish out around here if your group is doing well, but if it's a longer match, finish out your Bloodrazor, Randuins Omen, and then try adding Last Whisper for that irritatingly high amount of armor pen you now posess will tear through most enemies.

Skill Order

Omen of War- Start with one point here, then don't touch it until 7
War is your best friend for chasing people down. Combined with Omen of Pestilence it makes you run faster while they run slower.

Omen of Pestilence- Point at level 2, continue it to 5 as soon as possible. This is your primary damaging ability after Omen of War, it's an aoe nuke that is excellent for ranged harassment, closing a gap quickly, and chasing down enemies.

Omen of Famine- Point at level 3, next ability to be raised to 5. This ability is key to your longevity, it does initial healing and heals you over time for the damage your ghoul does. THIS SKILL IS INVALUABLE IN TEAM FIGHTS.

Ultimate- Grab at six and LEARN TO USE IT. Everyone dies in 5v5. Yorick can make that death count for much more. Cast it on yourself when you're low or about to take on someone you think might waste you. You'll have a second chance to waste them! See an ally low on health and you're thinking "They're dead" ? Throw the ult on them. 10 seconds of 100% committed fighting from anyone can really turn a tide.

Summary

If you follow my built and are a decent player, what you'll have is a yorick with some tank elements, some dps elements, and a good bit of HP regen.

This Yorick build is intended to create a Yorick who can confidently lane against almost anyone, attack that someone, and get away if need be without any concern. Yorick is an initiator and can regen his health very quickly, especially with this item build. Used correctly, with a q, e, w, ability sequence (usually), your Yorick will be a mighty foe. Open most fights with omen of war to get your speed and damage up, then drop omen of famine on them to do some damage and heal yourself, then nuke/chase with pestilence. Or drop all 3 on the enemy and hope for the best. It's all about what's right for the situation.
