Story

The work of gravediggers is essential amongst the living, but invaluable in the Shadow Isles. There are many shades of death there, and each is embraced rather than feared or reviled. One can only ascend from one state to the next with the magical aid of a skilled professional. At the end of the first Rune War, Yorick Mori made his living as a gravedigger. His family owned and maintained the Final Rest Memorial, one of the oldest cemeteries in Valoran. The shovel he employed for his work had been passed down for generations. Each gravedigger taught his son that this shovel was imbued with the spirit of every forefather, and that those spirits would protect him during the long lonely nights amongst the tombstones. To his eternal regret, Yorick died without an heir, bringing the proud Mori line to a close. His body was interred with his shovel in the family mausoleum, and the Final Rest Memorial soon fell to ruin. Death, however, was not the end Yorick had expected.
Yorick emerged on the haunted shores of the Shadow Isles – not quite dead, definitely not alive – still clutching his beloved shovel. He soon learned that with it he could act as a ferryman for the Isles' undead denizens, helping them climb death's many-tiered ladder. This proved a curse, as a gravedigger must "bury his quota" before he too can ascend, or so the legend goes. No one knows what "his quota" is. Yorick dug tirelessly, waiting in vain for the day when he would be freed of his burden. As decades turned to centuries, the shame of his failures came to a head. He returned to Valoran to find his corpse, convinced that salvation might be buried with it. When he arrived, no trace remained of either the mausoleum or the memorial. Hope nearly lost, he discovered the League of Legends, and there saw an opportunity to immortalize the family name he allowed to be forgotten ages ago.

Introduction

This is my guide on how to carry a game and be one bad man with a shovel as yorick! This champ was a difficult champion for me to feel out. I appreciate any up rep or any promotions about this build. I hope you enjoy the hunchback of the league as much as I did!

Masteries

The masteries follow a basic 21/0/09 for a carry dps.

Items

The bassic item at the beginning of the guide provide a solid dps and speed build. Any good carry runs these. Yoricks items allow his auto attack to actually deal 50% of the damage where he relies on his abilities to handle the rest.

Stick with the basic listed items unless you need survivability, then build into a:

Banshees Veil near late game...

Skill Sequence

Starting with Pestilence is highly recommended to help early game ganks, the slow does wonders. Then alternating between pestilence and war will keep the dps high and the chase and flee open.

Once you make it to mid-late game begin using you abilities in the order

WPestilence

EFamine

QWar

RDeath

Repeat till they dead...

This combined with your auto attacks should make your damage out put insane!

***Also I wanted to let you know that yourDeath can be used as an escape similar to Shaco or LeBlanc. But also a way to dive enemies... though not recommended...

Summoner Spells

I prefer these summoner spells:

Ghost: Good escape and chase!

Flash: Good escape and initiates!

Teleport: Great for pushing towers!

Off-limits!
Clairvoyance
Smite
Heal
Fortify
Revive
Clarity
Rally

Play Style

Now I have been getting pms and cmts that it either works or it doesn't. I hope this little addition will help shed some light on the negative.

When playing this champ under my build you must play him like a Gank-plank, err Gangplank. He harasses with his 2 ranged moves but ultimately farms minions and is a total roamer. This guide, contrary to popular belief, IS NOT A TANKY GUIDE. One must honestly treat him like a Gangplank and use much care when deciding to gank.

That said I will outline play styles I use through out the game.

EARLY LVL [1-5]- Defensive, usually prioritizing farming over harass. Never getting too close for a melee to smack me around. If I am more aggressive it is because my lane partner is op... Gangplank, Blitzcrank, or Garen etc.

MID LVL [6-13]- At this stage my ranged and melee ability become very op after I equip my first B.F. Sword. Let the careful ganking begin. Early mid if your behind in lvl try to catch up by farming but otherwise start smacking your opponent around. Like stated before you are playing like a gangplank. Keep on the harass and if at about half health jump in with all your moves for the easy kills!

LATE LVL [14-18]- By late game you are a ganking pushing monster. As soon as your Infinity edge hits the items, your unstoppable. Continuing to play like Gangplank, gank your way to the Phantom Dancer and just rape. Remember you are not a tank, so your role in team fights is to come flying out of the bushes targeting squishys with all your abilities and auto attacks. Then ultimating the tank or another main DPS. And continue the carnage. At this stage also keep pressure on all the lanes. If your team can win a 3v2 fight no need to join and make it a 4v2 and steal some poor guys kills... Just go push a tower down and be more useful to earn the team money!

Farming

Keep on the farm!!!!!!!
Keep on the farm!!!!!!!
Keep on the farm!!!!!!!

This champion is 100% item based after level 4....

You need to last hit as much as you can!

Team Work

A good laning partner is a must. I have found he doesn't work so well with healing supports. So Sona and Soraka are out!

On a different note this champion is not a ranged champ at all... so expect a few deaths. If the other team doesn't surrender so fast...my average spread usually looks like 20-10-10. So don't let a death or two deter you!

Sorry for image quality...

Summary

All in all you should pretty much carry your team to victory with this build. He hits like a monster and consumes towers. Enjoy the character, the build, and remember... IT'S JUST A GAME!
