I have received comments from people that they believe having a dorans ring instead of a phil stone is "better" because of the extra hp to prevent ganking. The reality is this is not true. Most ganks occur after a successful round of harassing. The enemy will attempt to get you to half health before committing to a real gank. With two phil stones, all it takes is 20 seconds to clear the loss from a successful harassment to the point that the regen has benefitted you more than the 100hp cap. Additionally, your future items give you the health buffer you are looking for.

Ok, so I am now 30-3 match history with this build normal games. It definitely rocks. Though, sadly, your team almost *never* recognizes your contribution. Your kill ratio will always be low (like 4-2-10) and thats all they will ever see. If you explain to them glance at your match history...they just go ballistic with no credible comebacks. Typical immature behavior.

Just went 10 straight victory matches non-ranked with this build. Gotta be doing something right =)

Well, its not really an AP increase (rod is 80AP + .06 of 725 mana from two arcs = 123AP vs a max of 160AP if you get 20 stacks mejai's) and you lose the health bonus which is really important. The main argument for mejai's is that its cheaper, get it faster. The reality is that you are getting the rod very early mid game still, with all the gold production in this build. I think, if I were to get a Mejai's that I would still get the rod after it, proceed with the normal build process, and then sell off the Mejai's for second arcangel's later on. Its not too uncommon for me to have all 6 main items and have to buy elixirs to spend my spare gold that I have nothing else to spend on. And once I am able, I am going to have AP seals. I find I am coming "just short" of many first bloods as I play more games.

I think I would take Mejail soulstealer instead of rod of ages .
