AP deals more damage. She's got good ratios and with a 
Lich Bane and her spam she gets a constant 100% AP ratio on her auto attacks.

AP for fun and Normal games, AD for competitive games.
Ofc if you need an assasin since enemy team has many squishy champs AP is better coz of burst. While on most games more versatile is def AD build.

AD: Extremely good tower-destroyer, more survivability, lesser burst, more sustained dps.
AP: Lesser good tower-destroyer, lesser survivability, extremely good burst, less sustained dps, better suited as a roamer/ganker/assassin.
But what do you need survivability for when you one-shot/one-burst your target? Just sayin'.

AD doesn't really have more DPS.

I just like AP better....and you can get survivability with AP you just need to build items that give it....I get a hextech GB when I go AP so I have a little extra AD...
