In my 5. build i can get all what i want without Frozen Mallet or Wamorgs. As defence-Items i have Sunfire+FoN and at my offensive section i have IE, Youmuu's and Brutalizer(stacks with youmuu's). And Cause of my runes and masteries, I have a movement speed advantage, so i don't need +3 boots, i build cdr boots for 40% cdr. And Garen has very long cooldowns, so this helps him most.
Key Stats on Garen:
>400 Movement Speed
if possible 40% CDR
>225 AD
~50% Crit Chance
Crit Dmg(Infinity Edge)
>2,5k HP
150+ Resists
And no, i didn't say Youmuu's is useless. I only said Infinity Edge is better. Infinity Edge is your key dmg item, because of the critchance on
Judgment.
The 4. build utilizes into more HP through Atmars, some people prefer this, i only combine their FoN+Warmog's, combine this with your passive and laugh about Dr. Mundo^^.
The 2. build is for an extremly good Game, their you think, you can stack 20 stacks on Leviathan. You are undefeatable then and have >275 AD. Scary^^. I think this Calculator shows it better.

@Blydden, if you look into my guide, it represents all of the items you called, except hextrinker and thornmail. Thornmail is not the best choise, because randuins and sunfire and atmas are better. Hextrinker loses too fast it's efficiency. other defence Items like Force of Nature are way better...
And never forget, i think Frozen Mallet is just bad on garen, warmogs gives you double of hp for 200 less gold. And the slow is not needed as garen^^.(like i play him)
