I find the best way to play Swain is to tank.

Yes, tanking as Swain, and it's awesome. Just get WotA and Spirit Visage along with some AP, and you're un-killable. Just take a look at the top Swain build, it works wonders.

Cluster bombing from B-52s is very, very accurate -- the bombs always hit the ground.
