I pretty much agree with Jun here. I did watch the game and while Regi is one of the best zileans, he couldn't lane effectively against warwick or malz. I only saw him get a few good ults in. I still think he's better played as a support rather than counting on him for your mage.

He best fits the role of a mage since he sucks kinda hard at babysitting.
I will however say that there are many mages that are stronger in that role.
