You're in Gold I, right? If your MMR is not high enough to be able to qualify for Platinum, you will notice. Not only by reduced LP gains, but also by possibly getting +0 once you're at 99 LP. In the end, you just need to keep winning more than you lose and it should fix itself.
I've also heard theories about dodging and how it reduces your LP but not your MMR, which is why some people play until they reach their promotional series and then dodge them. Haven't tried it myself though :P

Note that this is also generally done whenever someone is in a low division (normally IV or V) as players hope that, in doing so, they might skip a division because of their MMR being high

Lee fail invaded our jungle as my teammates came to assist me faster than their lee sin did. Overall a stomp because we lane swapped and their jayce couldn't handle pressure.
I rushed Lizard on Shyv and damn that was just so much damage. I towerdove enemy Graves at full health, killed him, and came out with 600 health left.
+7 lp
76 lp now
2 more victories until my match history becomes full of victories :D

Rough game :/
Did really poorly early on as no one really knew how to deal with Syndra (bursted everyone 1 on 1).
Fail-invaded as well as Jarvan smited blue (i suck gg)
Teamfights we started to do better and better, and then we won :D
