[/quote] The upgrade costs 1200 gold, meaning one might be able to buy it on the first back if one were to skip buying a starting item (which is probably a bad idea). Also it can only be upgraded once, and if I'm reading this correctly can't be changed. I'm not saying it's not a good thing to buy or even that it's not OP, but since it takes up an item slot and is about on par with other AP items once fully scaled, it's not the same kind of broken that it would be if it were available at level 1.[/quote]
