But I have to admit that this system would make like 100 really strong authorities and thats not what you want here, right?
Right now only Admins and Mods have the Power to actually do something important, but they do not interfere with Guiderating.
(Wasn't there once a post or sth that said 'guides which get updated to maintain their 'ideal'-status without getting changes are removed' ??)
Anyway, as 100 people would do this and they will be divided by 3 to 5 'generals', what will happen if the generals are not agreeing with each other... that would completely destroy the idea.
My suggestion is that you keep posting bad #1 guides here, throatslasher, and do surveys wethere they should be downvoted and which guide should be upvoted instead.
Of course the survey will not have any influence about the guiderating, but you could make many people to carefully read those guides and decide for themselves.

No don't keep posting bad #1 guides here. Post them in Build and Guide Discussion since you are discussing builds and guides, or make a blog. Also, don't just slam them. It doesn't feel good to get your guide called out and we don't want it to go into harassment. Try to find a way to point out what you think a guide could do better / why you think that a certain top guide is worse than another guide you would rather be at top. There's a difference between making a discussion with the intent to promote a good guide and making a discussion with the intent of demoting a guide you don't like.
