Hey,

I started playing again some time ago and returned to my main, Poppy.

I optimized the build extremely well this time and felt she is stronger than ever.

Then, today actually, I read the news about her impending rework. The dev thinks shes a tank and has no idea what makes Poppy a Poppy.

Ult will be gone.

She will be a tank instead of hypercarry.

0 killing ability.

Poppy will be no more and I doubt I'll stick to playing her simply because after 500+ games with that champion I fail to see how not keeping anything but the E will preserve her core gameplay.

Basically I will have to change my main, to a champion with insane late game scaling, ability to win 1v5 and stuff like that.

Singed and Vayne come to mind but I want to jungle.

Thoughts?

Edit:

Tbh I'm actually kinda glad that few people discovered how broken she is in the jungle, and with an unusual choice of a summoner spell to go with smite. Still, sad stuff.
I don't play LoL anymore.

Jax and maybe Irelia are probably the closest I can think of - similar build paths and hypercarry potential (more Jax than Irelia).
For utter hilarity, click >>here<<!

I was thinking Jax too, but he can't dive like a madman. Maybe Nasus? Irelia is tempting.

The jungle meta actually favors tanks at the moment due to the strength of the Cinderhulk Entchantment. Sirell's suggestion are what came to my mind first as well - you can play these two champions in top lane. Irelia is still pretty strong and often picked in top lane at the moment.
Why wouldn't Jax be able to dive with his ultimate?

Well, Diplomatic Immunity changes your perception of what "diving" truly means. I should lower my standards I guess lol.

Cinderhulk is indeed strong, but Valiant Fighter is hilariously broken in the jungle. You farm, do a couple of ganks, and transition to late game with Enchantment: Devourer, 40% CDR and a full DMG build.

In that case you should play Tryndamere :p

It's basically only Kayle and Tryndamere with that kind of ability, lel.

Actually you do have a point there Tryn is tempting.

I understand that Jax and Irelia are the closest to Poppy down the line, but I also want to play something strong but unpopular and niche. Tryndamere could fit the bill.

I think I'm better off just not playing though. I mained a hilariously broken champion for so long that nothing else even compares.

In my opinion mixing what you play and trying out new things if willing to learn and adapt is always fun. You can try out things which maybe fit your prefered playstyle the most (like current meta picks or the typical candidates for "broken champions") or you experience that you also like other playstyles. I used to like playing solo lanes as you could snowball a game after winning a lane but I started to like supporting even more as you can also win bot lane in a tremendous way which helps you snowballing a game as well.
