So i was browsing through the champion list, and i realized that in most of the games i play, there are very few variances in the amount of champions used.

For instance, Xerath, Viktor, Orianna, and Ziggs are seldom used as an AP mid pick, and that's just naming a few!! The list goes on and on...This may give you an idea of how underplayed some champions are

I Figure, that the reason these champions are hardly played is because there is something about the mechanic of the character that doesn't make the character very fun to play with. With that in mind, I want to know whether you think riot should poop out another champion, or spend a week or two changing some of the mechanics of these characters. For example, make evelynn's passive Shadow Walk yield a 25% damage reduction to all minions, rather than a 50% dmg reduction to non neutral minions.

DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT NECESSARILY WISHING THAT THESE UNDERPLAYED CHARACTERS GET BUFFED, JUST REWORKED

It should depend on the champion, not as a general statement. For this reason, I am voting no to the concept, even though I think specific champions do need to be reworked.

It's not that their kits are flawed or that things are wrong with their mechanics, it's just that newer champs come out that do what they do but better.

I'm going to compare Brand to Ahri. Sure they're not 100% similar, but they're both AP mids with a decent amount of AoE.

First comparison: Sear vs Charm

They're both single target spells with respectable CC(Taunt vs a stun).
The main difference though, is that Ahri's doesn't require another spell to hit first to apply the CC. It also holds them in place long enough for you to get a full combo off.

Next comparison: Pillar of Flame vs Orb of Deception.
Both are "poke" spells with Ahri's being the real winner in the poke department simply because it hits 2 times, is a little easier to hit and does true damage. Brand does more damage, but again, only if another spell has hit first.

Another reason he isn't played much is the sheer random factor of his ult. It has no priority for champions over minions and will hit whatever it feels like. It's interaction with Blaze is weak at best. and it could possibly hit only one champion in a team fight with minions around. Ahri's on the other hand priorities champions first, and it acts like a triple flash.

The reasons, in my opinion, that Viktor and Orianna aren't played so much is because they are extremely difficult with varying degrees of rewards.

Viktor can't 100->0 you like Annie, but he can 60->0 you because he has great poke with Death Ray and free AP so he can get tankier earlier.

Orianna, on the other end of the spectrum preys on champions with no sustain and who can easily be zoned. This is of course not popular right now with all the mobility but she can really shake fights up with a Command: Shockwave. She's a highly utility based AP, like Zilean(who you didn't mention for mid as well as Karma) and doesn't do as much damage as most burst mages.

TL;DR of the top section: Older champs get pushed aside because other champs can do their job easier and better with lower risks and the same, or slightly lower, rewards.

TL;DR of the bottom section: Champs aren't popular because they don't fit the meta or they are very hard to play such as Orianna and don't offer too much back for mastering them.

EDIT: Eve is getting a complete rework SoonTM. Her passive will probably change with that too.

Some old champions shouldn't have their kits reworked, I was thinking about their base stats, like they all have low mana pools, high mana costs on spells (i'm looking at you sion), low regen rates (sivir has lowest mreg in whole game), most of old mages and ad carries have low armor (sivir, heimer, soraka...)
Their kits are mostly fine, but maybe just a bit not so fun to play, compared to new champions with 3 teleports, 5 dashes and 450 movement speed (ok, i'm bit overdoin it, but you got the point :P)

The fact that champions are underplayed doesn't mean they are weaker or bad in any way. I only see it as an advantage to play a champ people don't know well! It certainly doesn't mean that they have to be reworked or anything. It's just that people are often willing to copy the most popular picks in high ELO and/or tournaments.

Look at Urgot; he was picked up by M5 after months of no buffs or nerfs and now he is the #1 ban in high ELO.

I thought it was a remake like ashe's.
Then definitely yes.

If u gonna remake an existing champ into something different.
Then just make another champ.
Two is better than one right?

People often go for what they see nuking their teams. Ahri, for instance, is one of the most overrated mages ever. This happens because her interaction with a good ganker is awesome, even if she isn't a super laner herself (if you're getting hit by her spells, you're doing something wrong OR the other player is doing things extremely well).

The list you (Xerath, Viktor, Orianna, and Ziggs) are from characters that approach the game differently. A good Orianna can bully a lane like few ap mids, but her mechanics are more demanding (early game you'll fail a lot of ultis, per example) and very team-oriented. Viktor is also unnattractive to many because of how he needs to dominate the lane in order to be a great teamfighter. The same with Xerath, who also requires prime positioning and lower-leveled players will hate you for the place you attack from and, if the teamfight is lost, for being able to run.

Point: A lot of these underplayed champs aren't right-in-your-face destroyers or simple to play. It doesn't mean they should be dumbed down at all.

However, I agree that, at the moment, Sivir is very weak as a carry. Karma and Eve are also two champs that are in need of a slight revamp, but Riot announced it's happening anyway.
Thank you Tsuki for the sig!
