Taric brings sustain, bulk and alows for burst and favorable trades. he's basically a swiss knife of supports and fits better the meta than Soraka. Also, rather easy to play and not squishy.

something else that might help is that many still think he is a major counter to other supports.

Also, soraka bot sucks, only bot-lane champ that fits with soraka is cassiopeia.
