I won't argue with this. That is also why I don't claim to be an amazing player etc. I am good with Jarvan (tank) and that is who I played with for a majority of my wins. Do I deserve my ranking? In a way yes. But am I of that skill level? I dunno. We shall see in s2. But I know I don't claim to be. Why? I have a few too many holes in my game still. And I know this and I am working on them. Take it for what it is.
But to your point. What about the person who ran off 19 straight wins to get plat that I think Jeebus posted a pic of? I may not be that skilled of a player but I am fairly sure that that person is a very good player.

i should consider myself pretty lucky that i got a medal (1377) for winning 4 ranked in a row with udyr and was 7-3

She's OP. Flat out OP.
She can free farm all day long and sustain good with her passive while being ungankable with her shield and at the same time ignoring harass in the lane.
She's like the old Vlad.

She might be better than the old Vlad because she brings more to a team fight. And if the Morg player knows how to use that shield on people other than herself... it is scary.
