For future help this would probably belong in the "Mentoring" or "New Player Help" sub-forums.
Unfortunately, I'm still learning Shen myself, and am unable to help much =x
Don't use your taunt unnecessarily unless to dash through a wall.
Unsure of the runes so you'd have to ask someone else =/
I use my typical mage tank runes on him myself, MrP Red, Armor Yellow, CDR Blue, Move Speed Quints
I hate when I'm chasing or running away and I'm just barely away or almost in range for a taunt, and either I die or they get to their tower.

With shen I run Move speed quints (must have), Magic pene Reds, Armor yellow, magic resist blues
I build shen : Doran's shield, boots, HoG, Giants belt, Sunfire, FoN/Guardian Angel, Rand
I focus on alot of health in the start since not many characters can really counter that so early in the game, except maybe malzahar, in which case I rush a FoN before sunfire

Also energy and energy regen doesn't help much, if you can, and no one else needs it, blue helps so much with Shen late game, gives you some nice energy regen, and the CDR doesn't hurt.

No. Every champion with energy has ways to regenerate it quicker. Just learn the best energy efficient skill combo. Basically all the runes recently listed are way more important anyway.
